a: This was a dark, clear copper color. It poured with a medium sized sticky head.
s: Caramel, toffee, hints of vanilla, plus some whiskey. Too much woody astringency.
t: A bit bland up front with a muddled combination weak whiskey, toffee, and caramel. There was a semi-strong woody astringent heat at the finish plus some fairly potent naked bitterness.
m: medium body and gentle carbonation.
o: Not bad, but this just doesn't come together. Overly harsh and lacking sweetness. Where is the vanilla? I don't think this beer was a good candidate for the barrel.

Served in 12oz goblet. Poured a nice, opaque mahogany-brown color with less than a half-inch of light tan head that had very good retention and pretty good lacing.
The aroma was mostly sweet malts, with a bit of a hop tang in the background. On the tongue, the beer was pretty much the same, with the addition of an odd "funk" in the middle. there a slight bitter and smoky finish.
The body was about average for the style, a little fuller than Bigfoot perhaps, and had a dry finish. Drinkability was OK, but I would probably only have 1 at a sitting. Overall, a nicely solid brew. Worth trying if you see it.
