Notes/Commercial Description:
Tilted Smile breaks away from the crowd. Big in alcohol, yet approachable and versatile. Confidently balanced with Saaz hops and 100% Pilsen malt. Crisp and delightfully carbonated.

Pours a golden copper color witha two plus finger fo white fizzy foam. On the nose its a bit sweet with a honeyed grassy profile that mixes with a bit of fruity yeast. On the palate it is more of the same. A touch sticky and the yeasty fruit flavors far outweigh the saaz hops and the bready pilsen malts.

Pours pretty amber with an orange hue and a fat head of off white foam that fell slowly and left a layer on top and cloud like lace. Nose is good. Pilsner malt, spicy hops, spice and a touch of lemon. Starts off with a little grass that becomes more pronounced as it warms. This has a light bread with honey that becomes an actual caramel sweetness as ti warms. I did not observe any alcohol on the nose.

Taste is heavy and immediately boozy. Instead of that citrus and grass and saaz you get alcohol and then a light hop bitter. The sweetness is heavy and detracts from the grain. There's a corn sweetness in here too. It's verges on cloying and all the elements of a pislner are fighting with the heavy alcohol and clashing with the caramel. The corn is just too much.

This finishes clashing. Sweetness with a moderate bitter. Thank goodness the carbonation was more than ample to keep the body of this beer from being heavy like a rock. The corn outdoes the spice and that is half the flavor of the pils as far as I am concerned. It's a little slick on the palate and overall just average.

Poured from champagne style bottle into a perfect pint glass. My first beer from this brewery.

Pours medium amber, slightly dark, with huge white foam. Sticks everywhere. Light malt layered nose, hints sweet. Taste is straw like light but with a firm hop. Crisp and boozy.

Picked up a 750 of this from World Market tonight on sale for $8 - score!

Can't say that I've ever had a double-pilsner, nor do I drink a lot of regular pilsners, so I went with a tallish, thin goblet for this one. Initial pour yielded about 3/4" of liquid and 4" head, so I set it down for a few while I got dinner set out.

Smells pilsner-y; earthy, funky, bread/yeast/toast, and maybe some figginess - got me thinking of some Oktoberfest I recently had. Body is a rusty golden yellow, with bubbles streaming up, and looking pretty active.

I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor, especially after reading a lot of reviews that seemed to rate that as the low point. I think it's nice - really follows suit to what you get in the nose, with emphasis on the malt-toast and fig. The alcohol is unbelievably well-hidden. 9%? You're kidding me. There's some spiciness and warmth in the background that gives it away, and a slickness to the mouthfeel, but otherwise you wouldn't know.

Overall, I really like this one, and heartily recommend!

Nice taste, not amazing, but there was something about the head that just felt great, not at all the gossamer insubstantiality of other lights, but rather, a curiously coherent, dense foam approaching - what? the chewiness of hops itself? - that was different, exciting, and enticing.

A - Golden, translucent, full finger of white thick head, sticky lacing, head dissipates slowly

S - barley, grain, water, low hops, booze, carmel

T - malt, saaz hops, sweet carmel, high booze, melon. finish is a sweet carmel booze.

M - creamy, med body, med frothy, real boozy which lingers

O - Booze dominates this beer. Nose is just about nonexistent. small carmel, booze and a hint of barley. Uinta must tone down the booze. Carmel is nice. More Saaz. Crisp this up. This is straight sugary maltiness. Germans would be disgusted with this pilsner. I don't recommend this.
