a really nicely designed bottle poured into a snifter. beautiful deep ruby (under lighting) / black pour with 2 fingers of off white head give off a nice lacing throughout. smells of dirt, grassy hops, burnt caramel, cigarette ashes. bitter up front with an immediate sweet backbone - almost like a milk stout, a bit of bitterness from roasted grains/black malt. really tasty. the booze is a bit noticeable.
medium body with a slight creamyness, light carbonation, and heavy warmth from the abv.
overall this is a great beer. not very familiar with the style, i think i only had 21st amendment back in black and wasn't a fan so i've avoided them. this is definitely better than what i remember the back in black to be. anyway, i really am enjoying the warmth from this one, even though it's the hottest day of the summer - it rained and cooled off a bit ... this is kind of what this beer feels like.. a summer night that turned on you, for the better.
