Poured from a growler to a pint glass on a cold night in a warm basement.
Black (of course) with thin head a minimal lacing. Low on carbonation but the growler had been open a few days before thus review.
Earthy aroma. I am not very accurate with smells but this beer has an interesting aroma, very unique.
OK, I will admit that after a discussion with the proprietor at the local growler store, Blind Murphy's, I was told that the name pronounced "doobie" comes from being brewed from hemp. So now I taste rope in the brew. Perhaps that is the smell and stringent after bite. Whatever, this is an interesting beer with an unusual taste.
This is my second growler and a nice change of pace. A good winter time brew and I appreciate the name if this is true about being brewed with a bit of the doobie.
Serving type: growler
