Although this brewery name sounded familiar, I am pretty sure this is the first of their that I've tried. It looks great in the glass. It is the right color (deep yellow) and it has a little head and lace. Good for an AIPA.
The aroma is strong enough and nice and piney/hoppy. There is something slightly wrong on the aroma - and this is in the taste too.
It tastes very bitter, appropriately for the style. It has a faint metallic or sour taste that should not be there and it spoils the experience.
The aftertaste is a nice bitter. I will not seek this out again. I hope the other from this brewery that I brought home are better.

Poured from 12oz. bottle into a pint glass. Labeled as Hop Notch with a best by date of 4/24/14. I assume they give this a 6 month best by date so it's about 3 months old at this point.
A- Pours a light-medium amber with a high white head that dissipated to a few centimeters. Very slightly hazy but still a good degree of clarity.
S- Nice notes of tropical pineapple and papaya. Citrus notes mostly of tangerine and some grapefruit, light pine.
T- More floral than in the nose. Pine, grapefruit , the fruity notes are not as big as in the nose, I think if I had a fresher bottle that might be different. Nice medium malt in the finish and nice sweetness as well.
M- Medium, good carbonation and an easy drinking single IPA.
O- A nice everyday year-round IPA. Hope to get some on-tap or a fresher bottle sometime. I enjoyed the fruity aroma and the sweetness but wish the fruit was more apparent in the taste, which was more floral and piney. I know with IPAs the fruity flavors are the first to go so hopefully a fresher bottle would be more fruity.
