A: crystal clear; bronze colored; 1 finger off white head that receded to a thin collar; very little lacing;

S: a heavy dose of pine with a hint of tropical fruit behind it;

T: all pine with moderate long lasting bitterness at the finish;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish if you give it a minute;

O: so many IPAs I taste today feature citrusy or tropical fruit flavors; it was nice to get some pine character; not much complexity to it, but nice just the same;

Love this IPA. Pours a hazy copper orange, decently translucent with a prominent off white head. The aromas include orange citrus and ripe melon, along with a moderately sweet caramel malt note. As the beer warms, a very light grass note makes an appearance as well.

Flavors are on point with respect to hop bitterness. The malt profile is well expressed, more of that sweet breadiness and a tongue coating quality that is balanced by the carbonation. Just a well executed, crisp, refreshing IPA that is bitter without being a hop bomb and is malty without being too heavy.

What a great beer from the get-go! Appearance is a huge cream-colored, long lasting head with lots of lace, and a clear, honey amber color. Aroma is equal parts grapefruit and resin with caramel malt and hints of cereal. Flavor’s just spot on balanced with perfect amounts of malt sweet, hop bitter, carbonic tang. Body is dialed in too. I want more!!

L- light amber or deep golden, not much head retention, nice lacing
S- VERY nice smell to this brew. some grass and herbs dominated mostly by a sweet citrus scent. Tantalizing and inviting.
T- I would call this beer "hopped to perfection." or perhaps "perfectly balanced" would be a hophead's declaration. You get pine and herbal hops, but a citrus hop ties it all together nicely.
M- medium body, nice carb

O- This is one of my go to beers. It is very nice and enjoyable. The price is right and the taste is right.

Beautiful light copper / dark orange color. Fantastic hop aroma - balanced and not overwhelmingly bitter, piney, floral, or citrusy. A perfect aroma if there ever was one. Tatse is initially wonderful for hop lovers - more earthy and fruity than piney, then oh-so-slightly bitter towards the end, but more vegetative with citrus and floral undetones. Feel is perfect from my can poured into a slightly chilled pint glass. As close to perfection as I have tasted.

Amber gold liquid topped by a quickly receding off white foam. Flowery-earthy, citrus and pine notes greet the nose. Tastes of mild grapefruit pith, unripe papaya, green apple, hints at pineapple. Moderate bitterness. Flavors and bitterness fade quickly into a biscuity malt which leaves the palate clean and refreshed. Medium body holds together well without faults. Overall this seems like a tasty, drinkable, enjoyably straightforward IPA that neither disappoints or distinguishes itself from many other excellent IPAs.

Can poured into a nonic pint glass

A: Pours deep golden amber with a frothy off white head that settles and laces well.

S: Citrus hops, a bit floral, some pine, a touch of dankness, and caramel malt sweetness.

T: Bright citrus hops, grapefruit and orange, a little pine, hints of tropical fruit, and a nice caramel malt sweetness to balance it out.

M: Maybe a bit towards the lighter side of medium body, moderate carbonation, very refreshing.

O: This one really hits the spot on a warm day. I love it!

Great beer at a great price. This has become my go to beer. The value of this beer is incredible. Quite bitter (which I love) but may not be everyone's favorite.

highest ba rated beer I've tried so far... I want to like it more but there are lower rated ipa's that i would take over this if made to choose. Taste is subjective so don't hate. still it's a really good beer.

Poured into a Spiegelau (bottle date best by 5/6/15). I need to get better at picking the freshest IPAs... this might be a little off due to the fact that there are obviously fresher Hop Nosh to be had. Anyways. Really nice looking brew. Solid finger of foamy, eggshell head, slightly cloudy golden amber hue. Ample carbonation throughout. Up front bitterness on the nose, and a slight hint of pine. Kind of one note aroma. Some generic hop bitterness on the front of the tongue, bit of lemony citrus, a slight yeasty estery note (seemed out of place), just a hint of the 7.3% alcohol coming through as well. Refreshing mouthfeel, with a lingering bitterness. Clean, good I guess. Might try an ultra-fresh bottle to reconsider my review, but hard to justify that this is any different from all of the other IPAs out there.

Terrific IPA. Citrus and pine hope with a solid malt backbone, complimenting sweetness with grapefruit in the aftertaste that lingers. Very smooth and well done.

Appearance: Golden, somewhat of a haze. nice lacing on glass
Smell: grapefruit, toasty
Taste: awesome big hop taste up front but very nicely balanced out with only a slight bitter aftertaste
Mouthfeel: medium body
Overall: Love this beer. It is a very solid IPA and i highly recommend it. I have had it in bottles and cans and for some reason the cans seem to taste even better yet

Poured into a balloon glass.

Look: Clear but hazy, a lighter burnt orange body. A cream colored head leaves a soapy film with lots of thick bands of lacing.

Aroma: Herbal, spicy hops, with a very faint sweet caramel note.

Taste: Very hoppy, herbal, bitter, spicy up front until a clever little sweet malt note slides in unexpectedly. Bitter hoppy finish but with a nice cedary flair.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied.

Overall: Nice balance in this but definitely weighs on the side of spicy hops and cedar.

Pours a deep gold with nice clarity. Cream colored head of slightly less than one finger. Dissipates quickly but leaves some nice lacing behind.

Very pleasant aroma of grapefruit and flowers. Hyacinthe, hibiscus and a bit of lavender. Mild lemon and orange. Some caramel malt underneath, but mild.

Grapefruit forward on the tongue. Very mild floral notes. A bit of caramel malt and honey. Some citrus at the end. Orange and lemon.

Sticky, oily mouth feel. Crisp carbonation. Bitterness lingers but not overpoweringly.

This is a nice IPA with some malt balance. Good clean flavors, grapefruit in particular.

Holy cow. This is an exceptional IPA. Very floral and packs a great bitterness punch. Seems higher than the 82 IBU listed, but in a good way. Highly recommended.

Good beer from Utah. Huh. But, here it is. Sold ipa goodness all around. A little heavy in grapefruit character. Tart and sweet play nicely off of on another. The finish isn't as dry as I like from my ipa's but I'm not kicking this out of bed. Not a west coast ipa, not east coast. I have no problem with the idea of picking this up again.

After having so many IPAs in my day, I often wonder if I'll find one that makes me think, "oh YES!" This one has done that. I'm currently drinking it as I write this, and I'm a happy man.

*It pours dark orange with a nice 1" head and some lacing. I poured mine into a craft-pub glass which I enjoy for American IPAs.
*The smell is fantastic, with a nice hops aroma, balanced with citrus, and a little pine, I think.
*The taste is out of this world. It truly is something to enjoy. The hops are powerful, but like spicy food -- the hops are not the only note and other flavors continually balance the hops. Citrus (I want to say grapefruit and saw that on another review, but I often mess up *which* citrus notes are coming through. It might be a combination of tropical fruits), and malt. I find the balance sublime. The mix of sweet and hops is fantastic, although the aftertaste is fairly bitter -- if you're a hophead, it's wonderful. If you're not, it might be a bit strong.
*It's light to medium bodied.
*Overall: I am really impressed with this. Obviously, the IPA market is crowded, both what is on the shelves and in thousands of breweries, but I will likely look to have this in my fridge on a regular basis. Takes a lot to impress me this much with an IPA, but this is good.

12oz canbest by 2/27/15 poured into a DFH IPA glass
A: Translucent dark orange with a lingering one-finger head
S: Rich malt, a bit of caramel up front then grapefruit mid-sniff finishing up with a hint of pine. Nice hops-malt balance
T: Still a nice hop-malt mix but not as seamless of a transition between the two as the nose. The malt leans a bit heavy
M: Medium-bodied, a bit of sweetness from the malt and bitterness from the hops are both distinct
O: Definitely a solid IPA though with the plethora on the market may get lost in the shuffle

12 oz can, mason jar

A – Deep amber nearing copper, slightly off white to light tan foam head, frothy with long retention. Moderately clear with some chill haze.

S – Tons of hop aroma, grapefruit, grass, a touch of medicinal/ganja. Golden, biscuity malt. Some bitterness on the nose but mostly tropical fruit.

T – Browned biscuits and grass, grapefruit. A touch of orange, mango, and lime. Very hop-bitter.

M – An adequate malt sweetness countered with high hop bitterness. Very dry finish.

O – Great hop showcase, well-balanced. A beautiful IPA.

Have had the pleasure of tasting this on tap from the brewery, from a bottle and from a can. Very crisp and refreshing. Hop bite doesn't bite too hard and alcohol is well hidden.

Clear gold pour with a finger of foam and good job with the lacing.

Grass, pine, a bit of grapefruit in the nose.

Pine, grass, light citrus, light malt that's mostly some bread. Not at all balanced but I'm digging the bitterness this brings.

Medium body, medium carbonation.

A very good IPA fresh, for sure. Mine are best before April 2, 2015.

Best before 2 27 2015. Pours hazy golden from the can with about our finger of head. Taste is awesome with the big hit of pine up front followed by subtle notes of citrus and some tropical fruit in the back. Feels modest in the mouth with good carbonation. Overall one of my go to ipa s any day of the week
