I really really like this IPA. So far this brewery has been one of my big favorites for this year.

A- Clear amber and golden with a good thick head for an IPA.

S- Piney with orange, hints of malts

T- Full taste. Carbonation on the front of the tongue with sweetness on the back. Light bitterness balanced with the sweet. (insert Homer Simpson drool).

M- Clean and refreshing while still leaving a little carbonation feeling on the tongue.

O- From start to finish this beer satisfies and leaves me wanting to try out more beers this company has to offer.

Poured vigorously from the bottle into a teku glass.

A- pours an amazing light amber color with a solid, white, 3 inch head. I waited until it subsided and poured over top. The head is so firm that it raised above the rim of the glass about an inch. Gorgeous lacing all around the glass with every sip.

S- smells of biscuity malts, grapefruit/citrus hops.

T- tastes sweet up front on the tongue and finishes a dry, pleasant bitter. Packed with tons of hop flavor, but has a nice full body and delicious malt to balance it out. Lots of flavor in this brew.

M- slightly prickly on the tongue with no ether/alcohol flavor present despite the 7.3% abv. Very well done. No harsh bitterness on the finish. A very pleasant mouthfeel.

O- a solid, drinkable, IPA. Very well balance with hop flavor/bitterness and malt sweetness. One of my favorite IPAs to drink as it is very drinkable dispute the abv.

I went to City Swiggers in the Upper East Side of NYC to find a great local IPA selection. I had never heard of Uinta Brewery, but decided to give an American Brewery's IPA a try. I drank from the 10 oz. bottle and boy was I amazed by the initial smell that this hoppy beer gave off (good reason why the name is Hop Notch). The flavor is comparable to many local IPAs in Vermont and is comparable to a Shed IPA or Otter Creek Hop Session. The color is a soft amber and the mouthfeel is wonderful after a few swooshes.

After trying this wonderful IPA, I am going to peruse the other beers Uinta Brewing Company has to offer. I highly recommend this IPA to any hoppy people out there. Cheers!
