Pours burn orange with a phenomenal white head and lace. Picture perfect. The smell is just ok. A bit hoppy and sweet. The taste is like the smell, not too overpowering and hit sweet and hops at times. There is a little tounge burn out going on here. Sort of tastes like a west coast IPA with a bit of the piney hops taste. It does have a creamy light feels. Overall, it's enjoyable but I'm not going to run out and grab more.

Light amber with a huge long lasting off white head. Good amount of clumpy lacing. I am more than half done and it still has some head.
Smell was pure grain bin.
Taste is floral grapefruit rind and enough grainy malts to keep it drinkable. Some white pepper on the tip of the tongue.
Mouthfeel was a bit thin but to style. Carbonation slightly soft.
Overall an average IPA that looks awesome. Not much zap for such a high abv.
Best by date of 10-25-13. Would like to try it in the canned version to rule out bad handling, etc.

A beer from my old home of SLC, purchased here in VT! I might have stuck around longer if there were more beers like this there 15 years ago (no, probably not...). Bottle says best by 10/14/13.

A: Light orange, brilliant clarity, medium head fades after a minute or so.

S: Nice but a bit subdued: pine, herbs and a little toasty (Munich?) malt.

T: Some sweet/toasty malt, big pine and herbal hop flavors, a hint of grapefruit rind and mango. Piney bitterness lingers nicely.

M: Near perfect balance of bitterness and malt body. Hints of alcohol get blasted away by the bitter finish.

O: Nearly a world-class IPA; just falls a little short in the aroma department. Tilted more toward hop bitterness rather than flavor and aroma, maybe a slight resemblance to the unjustly derided "East Coast IPA" of 10-12 years ago, but it works well here.

Poured into becker pint glass; clear golden orange with a medium fluffy white head that sticks as a disc of foam leaving delicate lacing. Smell is herbal and piney hops, overtop of subdued crackery malt. Taste has even more pronounced hop flavor; citrus peel, pine and herbal flavors meld, with a good but not strong biscuity malt presence. Alcohol is a bit noticeable at 7.3%, mouthfeel is clean and a bit spiky.
