A: Poured from the can into a pint glass. Body is clear coppery/amber that appears more dark golden when backlit. Nice 2-finger ecru-colored head settles on top, leaving behind a decent amount of foamy lace on the glass.

S: Not a terribly strong nose - for the hops there's pine and citrus and something herbal or floral. But there's also some moderate sweetness too.

T: I'm warming up to it more after a couple sips. First impression: I was surprised by the sweet foundation, which made me think of sugar and brown sugar. After a couple of sips, however, the hops seem to kick in and coat the palate with a solid dose of pine - needles and resin. Also some spiciness that at times recalls rye. Finishes with a good lingering bitterness that brings to mind pine (again) and a touch of lemon or maybe orange peel.

M: Good creamy feel to this one. Heft is middle of the road, maybe a tad bit heavier - this is clearly not one of those "session IPAs." Carbonation is modest.

O: Solid stuff. Not blown away by it, but it's good.

A - Pours a deep copper color with a thick, creamy head and moderately strong visible carbonation. The head retains very well and leaves thick lacing on the sides of the glass. It is mostly clear, with a little bit if haze. Pretty beer.

S - Strong scent of citrusy hops, some darker malt sweetness in there as well as some pine. Very encouraging.

T - This is a big IPA, and if I were doing it blind I would think it a double. The flavors rush at you right away, very powerfully. The taste is darker than the aroma suggests. Very earthy hops, piney, resinous. The malts balance somewhat, although the hops dominate. The sweetness is closer to caramel.

M - Quite full bodied and almost chewy. Distinct resinous quality. A little heavier than I would like.

O - I would suggest this beer for a time when you know you're only having one. The scents and flavors are all there in spades, but it became a bit overpowering for me. Recommend, but not sessionable for me.
