Wow. This goes down entirely too easy for 7.3%! This IPA is a pleasing golden orange/amber color with a thin, lacy head and a fair to substantial amount of effervesence. It's fragrance is the most appealing quality and really knocked out of the park a blend of sweet caramel notes and lemony citrus hops, in tandem with elements of pineapple. It's light bodied for an IPA and tastes of white grapefruit and spruce, and it's unfortunately not as bold (nor does it have a lingering viscosity) as I'd prefer. There's also an acidic quality that that detracts from the overall mouthfeel, but all in all, this is a quality west coast IPA.

If they made beer cologne – and if they don’t they should – this wouldn’t be a bad place to start.

STYLE: American IPA

ABV: 7.3%

LOOK: Creamy head sits nicely atop a surprisingly clear amber, more vinegar than oil. Slow but persistent carbonation up the gut. I can tell already, the lacing, it’s there.

NOSE: Classic West Coast IPA. Sugared grapefruit right away. Also orange. Also pineapple. And also nectarines. There’s a wonderful little piney note, like if you took a citrus cocktail and stirred it with just a needle or two. Tempting and coy.

MOUTH: It can’t replicate the nose, and that’s a shame because I had orgasmic hopes for a mouth parade. What I need here is some sweet honey tang and something that sticks in my gums for a minute. This, I’m afraid, is too light to be excellent. But not to get too caught up in the negatives, because there are some, let’s cover the positives. Because there are just as many. Sharper pine without being overwhelming. Clever bitterness. And a nice malty gulp.

A: Crystal clear, shining amber with a bright white soapy head.

S: Grapefruit, orange rind, mango. Some pine. Love the aroma but wish it was a little stronger.

T: Wow, rarely does an IPA taste better than it smells (in my opinion) but this one has pleasantly surprised. Bitterness lingers, nice strong grapefruit, citrusy presence. You really get that IBU strength on the palate. Love this.

M: Light but nice. Refreshing and juicy like a perfect IPA.

A- hazy unfiltered looking apricot amber with a dense sticky buff colored head. Lace covers the glass in thick ribbons topped by a splattering of spots and swirls. Tiny bubbles rise in slow motion through the fog.

S- large succulent tropical fruity aroma. Damn this smells good. Pineapple is most prevalent, followed by passionfruit, mango, grapefruit, apricot, clementine, and Meyer lemon. This has got to be one of the fruitiest IPAs I've ever inhaled. White lilies, orange juice, and pale toasted grains hover behind the masterfully executed use of hops.

T- pleasant hoppy bitterness from start to finish. Never astringent or acrid, just grapefruit and tangerine peel and the distinct flavor of Meyer lemon, which is awesome but hard to describe. A decent amount of malt sweetness plays well of the hops and neither seems to outweigh the other, but the hops have stamina and last into the finish.

MF- surprisingly full creamy body with subtle carbonation. Juicy pithy feel on the cheeks.

D- the aroma is the high point for for me but this is a solid brew.
