Had this on 2012-04-23 in Columbia, PA

A - Clear golden orange with a 2-finger white head that sticks around and leaves nice lacing.

S - Naval orange flesh, hop floral and a very light touch of pine.

T - Blast of crushed hop bud oils, sweet and nutty malt followed by light orange creamsicle, herbal/metallic and light pine, then a very healthy dollop of orange pith bitterness. The nutty/orange malt sweetness in the aftertaste yields to a long-lasting orange zest and hopbitterness.

M - Medium body and carbonation. Substantial, oily and lightly prickly.

O - A nice example of a IPA. It has a unique flavor like biting into a bitter orange creamsicle sprinkled with hop buds and nuts on a pine wood tongue depressor. I enjoyed it and will have it again.

I picked up a single of this brew at Corridor Wines and Spirits, Laurel, MD, and good for them for bringing in so many far-from-home beers. Poured clear, golden amber, minimal head, faintly floral nose, weak hops, yeasty.

Taste was nice citrus floral hop blend, worthy, but not outstanding, some musky side notes, restrained malt sweetness, good balance, but not quite enough hops to be exciting. Malts a little bready, come through with warming. Slight metalic aftertaste. Mouthfeel was pleasant, medium body, but heavier than some, a little chewy, good carbonation tickling the tongue.

I'd probably buy it again, would love to have it on tap!

Pours a dull, clear golden color with an eggshell colored head. Head retention is excellent. A battle of pine and citrus in the bouquet. Grapefruit breaks throuh late. A nearly perfect mouthfeel that makes this IPA so very drinkable. Sweet grapefruit and a note of tangerine in the impressive flavor. Excellent IPA. Well done, Salt Lake City!

Pours a transparent copper body with orange hues beneath the feather white, fluffy head that slowly dissolves to leave a scattered, yet sticky lacing.

Giant hop aromas waft from the glass including herbal, floral, and citrus varieties as well as an underlying malty sweetness to back it up.

The taste is similar to the nose, perhaps less floral, with more pronounced malty sweetness beneath the abundant herbal and citrus hops.

Medium in body and mouthfeel with a smooth, resinous finish.

This is a great IPA, well balanced and full of flavor and aroma. Absolutely delicious.

Poured from a bottle. Super fresh!

A: Golden with an orange hue

S: Herbal, earthy, ripe grapefruit, slight malt sweetness, orange blossoms

T: Herbal, grassy, grapefruit, medicinal

M: Oily, lots of hop resins

O: I really like the rustic herbal hop flavor that comes through. Great brew!

Clear amber orange colored beer with a very small white colored head. This is pretty much the color I call IPA orange.

Smell is sweet malt and hops, sweeter than most IPAs. This one leans more to the citrus side than the pine. Passion fruit and pineapple are strong in this . Grapefruit, orange and lemon are lesser scents. Slightly woody the malt here is more or less simple syrup.

Starts out sweet and woody at first. Sweet upfront and ends bitter. Tastes like it smells but not as intensely. Bitterness is medium.

Mouthfeel is good.

Overall a nice IPA, just wish is tasted more like it smells

Picked up a single, 12oz bottle from Total Wine, Charlotte (Park Road). Poured into a Sam Adams “Perfect Pint” glass...

A: Slightly cloudy orange; cream white head leaves some strands of lace, but nothing crazy; cool label art and “compass” bottle; bottled on date (2-15-12) is a plus.

S: Orange; citrusy hops; bread crust; pretty clean IPA aroma.

T: Light pine and citrus pith hoppiness; not much malt presence; a little resinous on the finish; good, but I was expecting a little more for a 7.3% IPA.

M: Medium-body; moderate to high carbonation; a touch slick / oily; pretty spot-on for an IPA at this abv.

O: A pretty good “west coast IPA” here; not as robust as I was expecting given the abv of 7.3%, but good nonetheless; perhaps a little too dry and resinous to be refreshing or a “lawnmower IPA” but good stuff.
