bottle into glass

A - pours a 1" head, recedes to a small head with moderate lacing. Light golden/orange that is a little hazy

S - Loved the smell the second I opened the bottle. Fruit, hops, and flowers, can get a little malt on the nose

T - great hops, grapefruit and sweet fruit, caramel malt, finishes with a floral note

M - Medium-light body for an IPA, medium-high carbonation

O - Taste delivers on the promises of the nose, I would prefer a tad less carbonation, but a really great beer, it is very refreshing for an IPA, love the sweet fruit and floral.

A: Pours a clear, clean golden-orange with a BIG bubbly white head of foam on top. Some minimal bubble action in the body. Preliminary lacing is looking good. The thing that stands out most here is how crystal clean the body is -- really nice.

S: Hops coming through nicely. Getting that nice piney / grassy smell over whatever citrus might be around. Smells super crisp. Really nice smell -- if the taste is anything like the aroma hen this should be good. Sweet malts are coming though too.

T: Compares favorably to DC Brau IPA. The hops are nice, not subtle, but very unique. Pine / Grassy aroma transfer to the taste. Kinda of a resin taste. Nice finish, slightly bitter, but really coats the mouth with hops. Crisp. Refreshing. Super solid brew here.

M: Medium body. Nice carbonation. Smooth and creamy -- no real bite. Oily feel. All good here.

O: I had heard good things about this brew on Beer Advocate. And, it's true. It's really good. Again, I compare it to DC Brau, but this gets higher scores because DC Brau is littered with off-putting sediment. This is so clean, crisp and beautiful. I recommend this to anyone.

12 oz. bottle poured into a cervoise glass

Pours golden amber with orange hues; two finger bright white fluffy head. Above average retention and quite a bit of splotchy lacing. Citrus blossoms, grapefruit, and a hint of pine on the nose. Grapefruit rind bitterness right off the bat, met by some lightly sweet caramel malt and pineapple. Finishes crisp and dry with the return of bitter citrus rind. Lighter side of medium bodied, well carbonated, smooth and silky mouthfeel. Solid and enjoyable IPA.

A good though not exceptional IPA, on tap at Capone's Restaurant. Big IBU, fruity and orange taste. Spider lace. Decent drinkability, however some bleach in the finish. Decent drinkability despite imperfections because of the hop complexity. Middling for all the great IPAs out there.

As others have said, this beer pours a light Orange. Nose is impressive with a nice hop character. Taste is where this IPA shines. Very nice balance between strong hop and malt. Among the top 10% of IPAa on the market. The balanced flavor continues with somewhat more malt as it fades. The alcohol come through at the very end.

I picked this up as part of a build-your-own six pack for $9.99 at the Binny's store in Bloomingdale, IL. 12oz brown bottle with a bottled on date of 07/13/12 on the side of the label, making this bottle about 5 months old.

The beer poured a hazy golden/copper color with a 2-finger white head on top. The head lasted a few minutes and left lots of whispy lacing all over the glass.

Pineapple grapefruit aroma mixed with a touch of caramel.

The taste had more bitter grapefruit to it than sweeter pineapple, but both are present. Mild caramel malt adds some sweetness and balance, but the hops are the star of the show here with 82 IBU's to prove it. The alcohol is well hidden for 7.3%, but the bitter grapefruit oils linger well into the aftertaste.

Medium body with a little higher than average carbonation.

This is a decent IPA that lives up to it's namesake "Hop Notch".

Poured into a pint glass. The color is clear golden. There is a full one inch head that leaves a lot of great sticky lacing.

This has a really aromatic tropical fruitiness. Citrus and pineaplle blend really well together.

The taste has great zesty hop flavor to go with mild malt sweetness, that really shows in the finish. There is great pine and citrus notes in the flavor as well. The sweet finish really goes well with the orange.

This is really tasty, it's medium bodied and sticky. Yum.

Hard to see in this dark restaurant, but appears to be slightly amber color with white head.

Smell is mild tangerine and bread.

Taste is malt forward with citrus coming in midway. Caramel and apple also present.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied.

Overall good.
