This full-flavored amber lager delivers a complex, toasted malt body and noble hop character.

Hoppy Hanukkah box set #3. Pours amber red semi-clear with quick fading head from can to pint. On the nose honey caramel malts. Decent winter lager with earthy slightly bitter flavor from Uinta Brewing in Salt Lake at 5% ABV (not 4%).

A surprisingly complex lager, with many different notes, perhaps not as heavy as your average winter warmer or lager, but still good.

Mostly clear reddish amber appearance with a medium size off white head and decent lacing. Subtle bready aroma, more toasty than roasty, modestly hopped. Grainy, malty taste, a bit herbal along with some sweetness in the finish. Medium bodied, nicely carbonated mouthfeel. Basic but satisfying.

-clear, deep amber can pour with a 1 cm foam cap that dissipates very quickly.
The aroma is light with caramel notes.
The flavor includes some toasted malt and sweetness, but is thin.
The body is appropriately light.

On-tap in Garden City and served in a pint nonic.

A: A little surprised at the amber darkness of this one but shouldn’t have been; spot on for the style (I expected a pile/pale based on the waiters description). Tight creamy off-white head laces ok.

S: Honey malts hit first, fairly sweet, with an earthy hop undertone and faint spice character; mildly bready & malty throughout. Simple and pleasant.

T: Balanced palate of caramel/honey malt sweetness, just mildly toasted, and that earthy hop character, really faintly bitter comparatively...toasted grains, lightly nutty.

MF: More body than I expected, though not quite medium-bodied. Smooth and easily-drinkable on tap, lower carbonation.

O: Nothing special, but nothing wrong either. It’s a simple amber lager.

Bought this on a whim since I had other good beers from this brewer. This isn't one of them. Kind of caramel sweet and blah. It's OK.....

Look: Pours amber with a amber-tinged white head that is thick and quick dissipates. It leaves behind a thin remnant of a head with mild lacing present. Carbonation is moderate, neither eccentric nor absent. It is clear, not hazy at all.

Smell: Sweet, caramelly, roasty, bready, malty, smells like a standard amber lager. I found the smell to be pretty good nonetheless.

Taste: The overall flavor is neither strong nor weak. It is malty, bready (like the crusts of a freshly baked wheat loaf) and slightly caramelly. Hop taste is either absent or extremely difficult to detect; I detected it once, but never again. Subtly (and I mean very subtly) sweet. The finish lingers with the caramel breadiness. Alcohol taste is absent.

Feel: Carbonation is present but not overwhelming. It leans more toward the watery side but has a small amount of cream feel. My lukewarm water was smoother than it. Most likely low to medium bodied.

Overall: Just a standard Amber Lager, nothing special. Not bad nor life changing. Give this to someone barely starting out on beer and they may like it.

L: Poured from a can, it has a clear maple amber color with a small white head, no lacing.
S: It has a sweet caramel aroma.
T: Bursting with caramel flavor and a nice toastiness towards the finish.
F: Call me crazy but I feel that it's a tad creamy.
Overall, I think this is a solid beer, taste is great however, there's nothing that will make it stand out. If it's the only beer around then I won't be upset but it would not be my first choice.

Dark Amber, basically brown ale almost. Little smell other than malt. Flavor is straight up like a brown ale. Really deep one note malt with little else going on. Just comes off bland and misses the mark for an amber or red ale.

Poured from a can. Caramel in color with a small white head. Smells of malt, and caramel. Taste follows the smell with a slightly sweet ending. Pretty solid Amber

I agree with a previous reviewer that this really comes across as more of a Bock than an Amber lager. Just enough malt presence to make it appropriate for the colder months. As an avid skier, I love the can design
