Woof. Following on the heels of my review of the 21st birthday suit, let's get into this one, which wasn't even as good as the other disappointing one.
Another amber pour, but this one did have a slight pink/red edge to it that was missing in the 21st. Again, it can't hold a head up to anything more than a mere film on the top of it. Aroma of cherry and belgian spice rack that was (thankfully) missing in the 21st. Even more acetic acid parroting balsamic vinegar. Taste was not for me, some cherry, some sourness, but not the kind you like. Still too much band aid, clove, varnish and coriander like notes. One of the rare times that a cherry medicinal cliche is applicable in the beer world. Mouth feel was again hampered by a lack of carbonation.
In a way this is average, in a way this is below average. Purchased from Khoury's in Las Vegas. Would not bang again.

Big fizzy bubbly head fades slowly, clear amber orange color
Nose Belgian esters, hint of booze, fruity, tart cherry and candy syrup, Belgian malt
Taste is sweet, candi sugar, syrupy, little oxidation, tart and sweet cherry, candy cherry syrup and jam, Belgian malts, phenols and little booze, syrupy sticky finish, little booze tingle, sticky cherry syrup
Mouth is med bod syrupy, small bubble decent carb
Overall pretty nice, oxidation is tough but age so.

Tried ages ago, reviewed from notes.
Pours a rude red colour, head is disappointing, just a thin crown although a quick swill revives it. Lacing is quite decent, but not that sticky. Looks OK.
Smells quite sweet. Marshmallow and a big aroma of bubblegum on there. Toffee, with a big cherry medicine note. Fluffy and sweet but some odd notes in there as well. Yeah, a bit like kiddy medicine in a lot of ways. Will reserve judgement until I taste.
Taste is not what I expected at all, really. Sour, but not really in a satisfying, wild ale kind of way. It tastes just 'off', with big phenolic notes, cherry liqueur, some unripe strawberry and fresh fruit pudding. Fruity, mostly, not majorly sour but not sweet either - tastes a lot like underripe fruit. Could use more sweetness, or just more complexity to the tartness.
Brassy body: bold and solid really, with a nice dry finish. Very good.
Can't say I'm a big fan. I feel it's a bit lacking on some sides and the dominant flavour needs to be toned a bit more. Refreshing enough, though.
