Freshly pulled pint at The Masons Arms in York along a section of the old city wall and on the canal. Really a lovely pub. And this is a lovely Bitter. Great malt profile, so smooth and easy, properly bitter and dry in the finish. A tasty ale in the sunshine on a beautiful day in York.

I tried a pint of this beer off the cask'er at a pub just outside the Derby train station. It poured a clear copper with cask white head that left a fine lace. The scent had bitter hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with typical english bitterness through the drink. The mouthfeel was medium in body but with cask condition "carbonation". Overall it was a good beer.

Pint on cask in Ye Old Starre Inne, York (£5):
Copper tinged amber with a clear body & a creamy looking white about 0.5cm tall but holding really well. Malty with a kit of bitterness & earthy flavours, a really smooth body & slightly creamy finish with soft to little carbonation & a hint of biscuit in there too. There's a few earthy hops but a little too bitter for me really, very traditional though & better than expected for a cask.

On cask at the Cheshire Cheese. Very low hop bitterness, malty with no sweetness, nothing to write home about.

Cask conditioned at The Mitre, Cambridge. Deep golden colour, low to none head. A decent session bitter, nothing wrong, nothing spectacular. Tolerably malty aroma and flavour with a decent hoppy finish.
