Wow,

This is everything a beer bar should be. The atmosphere is a little divey and random (the fireplace is cool but how does it work?) but that is a good fit in seattle and doesn't detract from the place.
The quality of beer there is out standing with everything from local breweries to Belgians to limited releases. The staff is very friendly, they aren't arrogant like some beer bars, and know their stuff. The selection is world class with over 200 bottles and over 15 taps. No food but you can bring in your own food which is nice. Over all one of the best beer bars I have been to.

The space, ambiance, and location (right on "illustrious" Aurora Ave.) are not to my personal liking, but the tap list and bottle inventory tend to be first-rate, and the service is solid. I don't know if it's worth a special trip, but if you're in the area, and aren't too fussy, you should always have a good time here...

Love this place. All beers on tap are available in a 4oz pour for a couple bucks. You can sample many beers this way.

The beer is great, but oddly the the indoor fire pit is what I will always remember. Fantastic bottle selection. A little bit bright with all the the screens/monitors listing the beers and also how much were left in the keg. The beer selection was great. Boneyard Hop Venom was my main dish and Rodenbach grand cru was my dessert. The staff was very beer savvy, nice, not too friendly but also not too unfriendly? LOL I'll be back.

Recommended on Beer Advocate. So made the trip during Beer Safari trip to Seattle with some friends of mine. Wow. Completely agreed. I loved this place. Great, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Atmosphere was like an eclectic mix of ultra comfy living room; inside fire pit, small bar area, not too dark, moody but fun. Really had a good, relaxed stop with my friends, OK...then the beer, Great rare beers from Cascade, HOD, Midnight Sun, etc. mixed with a very good collection of taps and bottles from just about everywhere. But for a guy who wanted to tap some hard to get NW beers..it was excellent. Fresh tapped Homo Erectus from Walking Man...hmmm, my kinda session beer. perfect!

Uber used to be one of my favorite beer bars, but it seems that some of the staff have decided they are the end all be all in the Northwest, and the service has gone downhill. Still got good stuff on tap and good bottles, but I can’t support a place that has rude bartenders.

Visited on December 27th on a Seattle area holiday pub crawl. This place is quite small, but you get a great welcoming vibe when you enter that immediately puts you into your comfort zone. The seventeen taps were nicely selected with a focus on local and PNW beers. Selections are numbered to match the pool ball tap handles! Bartender was very helpful in making recomendations. Crowd was very friendly compared to the typical Northwest standoffishness and we throroughly enjoyed our visit. I'll make a point of coming back here the next time I'm in town.

Über is a fun bar to hit up with a few friends. The bar itself is quite small but has a great rotating lineup that's updated daily on the site. The bottle selection is minimal but quality. The service here is great (and better be since its so small). I love this place for good and quiet conversation instead of the overly loud convos you have to have at Brouwers. The small events they have here are always a blast. They get exciting kegs to tap (PtY blew in 20 minutes but was delicious!). Theyve had some anniversary beers brewed for them that are fantastic (Uberwine and Cab Ride). A fun enjoyable place, I recommend it if visiting here.

i've visited uber a number of times since moving to Seattle - with all of the traffic disasters that Seattle presents, the location on Aurora Avenue makes it fairly accessible for most. The road may be a sh!thole but Uber is well worth the trip, and duck island down the road aint bad either.

quite the small room - i like to visit in the afternoon when its cozy but not crowded. there are a few nice tv's that focus on sports and make this actually a pretty nice place to watch an off-peak game.

nice bar area, interesting fireplace table - just cozy.

tap list rotates fast and is easily the 2nd best list behind brouwers in the city, in my opinion. the focus seems to be heavy on american craft, which is a plus. all of the rarities will flow through here, kegs are aged for years (cellar list available on the website), growlers to go, a fantastic bottle list. Really just a great place - highly recommended.

service is always great - no pretention. 1/2 pours available.

Uber Tavern is a great beer bar. It is quite small and cozy, with a pleasantly chill atmosphere, even in the earlier parts of a Friday evening. There is no table service, but service is good. The bartender was plenty willing to answer questions, and beers are served at proper temp and in appropriate glassware. Selection is sold if not huge, about 25 taps or so, but very well selected. The bottle list is extensive and selected with the same care as the taps. Prices are very reasonable. I had a bomber, or was it a 750, of Abacus for $19, and a healthy pour of Life and Limb for a fair price. Can't be too much less than that in a bottle shop. They had clean 09 Abyss on tap, as well as lots of other impressive offerings. If you like great beer bars, it would be silly not to visit this one, given the chance.

Stopped in here with UA8 for a couple beers, they had an '08 Stone IRS aged in Elijah Craig bourbon barrels which was phenomenal and it was only $5/10oz pour! I got a couple fresh hop beers and they had abacus and FW 14th for sale in bottles.

The place is really small and cozy, lots of cool are and stuff, good music and a nice bar, the location of is easy to find and the prices are dirt cheap. They do growler fills of all their beers I think. The guy working there was friendly and seemed to know his stuff which is always a plus. I don't think they had and food.

Hands down, my favorite bar that I found on my recent trip to Seattle. I prefer my bars smaller in size, dark, with that "worn-in" look. This place has great character, a 10-15 seat bar, with a few tables and chairs. A large glass cooler is behind the bar, set up nicely to emphasize their great bottle list. Draft list was pretty great, had some brews that I had never even heard of (I'm from the east coast).

We arrived at this place a few minutes after it opened, so we had the place to ourselves. I could imagine it would get pretty crowded in the evenings, but again, that just adds to the character of the place.

Great place that is new to me. I am pretty sure this place wasn't around 10 years ago when I lived here.

Great atmosphere, dark and small, but the fridges behind the bar are well lit, and stocked nicely. There are a handful of chairs, a couch, and a very cool round table that has a fire pit in the middle.

Quality is very good, saw lots of great locals on tap, Russian River, and tons of high quality bottles.

Service was fine, no complaints.

Selection was great. Liked I said, they had tons of excellent bottles, and it looked like at least 2 dozen taps.

Don't think they have food.

Value is good, prices were fair for Seattle.

All in all, a great place, really enjoyed it, and might have to go here again before I leave.

The best bar in the Seattle area. I don't go to bars very often, but this is definitely my top choice when I do. Pretty laid back atmosphere, generally not super crowded, but it is a pretty small bar. The tap list is always phenomenal. Bar tenders are friendly for the most part..but the key here are the rotating taps. Doesn't get any better. They get some really good beers here that you will hard pressed to find anywhere else. Overall, great place to stop by for a pint. If you are visiting Seattle, this should be on your must stop list. A+

I like this place.

The atmosphere is great: somewhat dark, and there's funky dia de los muertos beer art. They've added HD tvs recently and have quirky old movies or sports in there; I appreciate both from timem to time. I'm sure the "quality" is great, but I'm also sure I don't know what that means. The service when I go in is usually pretty good, but I go earlier and more on weekdays than some. The selection, between on tap and bottles is really good. The food is what it is, nonexistant really, but they allow food from other places and even'll give you some plates and forks.

A: Walked in on a Sunday, only 2 others at the bar. Could tell they were there often. We drove yep from Tacoma to try the Flyers Cab Ride, upon arrival I was disappointed to find out it was unavailable despite the website saying so. However, the guy working did manage to get me a sample or two which was nice. The girl working the bar was also nice but really was not as smart on beer as she made out to be. Also opening a bottle and only sharing it with your buds at the bar when a few other patrons are there is probably not good, not even offer but no biggie. It was pretty laid back, smaller than I thought but cool place but did not get a big, nice craft beer loving vibe from the other patrons or staff

Q: Quality was good. I thought the handles were ok but the bottle selection more than made up for it

S: Cant complain

S: Very good, bottles are great, draft selection was ok

F: Did not have

I did think this place was a bit overpriced. $13 for a bottle of Stone OG? Decent stop, wont be back.

Small place with a very laid-back vibe. L-shaped bar that seats probably a dozen with 17 on tap. Cream of the crop bottle selection prominently displayed in a glass cooler behind the bar. Cool paintings that feature macabre renditions of the Cat in the Hat, Sam Adams, etc.

Friendly enough bartender with a few locals hanging out. Tap selection was very nice with a Cascade Sang Rouge and a Pliney the Elder to be had. Prices were average for bars in the Seattle area. Nothing really mind-blowing on tap or in the cooler on our visit, just pretty top-notch. Our only complaint was the extreme reak of bleach which my wife was not able to ignore.
All the beer on tap is available to go also with per oz prices clearly marked on the beer menu.

We drove there and you're probably looking at about a 20 minute drive from Downtown. Don't know if it would be possible to knit together a bus route, but it seemed impossible. The relative location from downtown where we were staying kept us from staying too long, but we'de be happy to go back for another quick hit. Any place that serves full pints of Pliney (as they should) gets big ups in my book.

We sat by the fire pit.

About how many beer bars can you say that? Not that there was much we could say during our visits to Über Tavern - we were busy drinking RR Consecration, Baron Liberator Doppelbock, and Chili Mead.

The mead - where did that come from? There were three or four of them on tap. How many beer bars have that? Toronado SF has mead on the menu, but it's served warm from a crockpot. In Seattle they do things differently.

There are seventeen taps, and they're well chosen. On both occasions I visited, I was put in charge of ordering drinks for the non-beer people in the group (plebeians, I call them) and was able to satisfy all concerned.

It's a small space, but clean and well-lit. I ended the night with Lagunitas Gnarlywine, which they served to me in a pint glass. At a place like this it's all too easy to end up under the table. Or fire pit, if you're seated by it.

I went to Über yesterday again to try to get a little taste of Pliny the Younger, but sadly the bartender said they blew their keg in about fifteen minutes. And though I didn't get my PtY, I did manage to find myself in the bar with the best selection in Seattle.

I played it safe and went with a Duvel (quite reasonable at $6), though they had a couple hundred other choices. Though the tiny place was insanely packed, I still got relatively quick service from the one guy working behind the counter. I drank my Duvel from a colossal Tripel Karmeliet glass which I enjoyed immensely.

The place is decorated with all manner of beer paraphernalia, including antique signs and tons of bottle labels affixed to the low rafters. My favorite pieces of ambience, however, were the Rainier shaker pints into which the bartender was pouring draught after draught of Pliny the Elder (clearly the crowd were pining for what they had missed).

All in all, Über is a must-visit establishment if you love beer and are in Seattle. My only complaint is that it is tiny -- super tiny -- and finding a seat or even a place to stand can be difficult if there are more than 25 people there. Luckily, there is a small outdoor area for overflow when the weather's nice. If you get a chance, absolutely visit the place.

This place has inspired me to write my first review on BA- and I'm a guy who's gotten a free beer at Toronado before.

It's always hard to find that right combination of selection and ambiance in a city you're not familiar with, but this place had a fantastic selection and an awesome, laid-back attitude to it. I found Brouwer's to be a bit stuffy and Stumbling Monk to be a bit boring to be so divey, but Uber walked that line beautifully.

Our bartender was happy to make recommendations and was very friendly to us goofy tourists (though a bit on the slow side) and knew her stuff. Plus, she gave us some recs for other places to check out (which we promptly did).

The place itself is fairly small, but not crowded the Sunday night when we went. And if you're from SF, it won't feel small anyway. The stuff on the walls vary between cool and hilarious, and create a perfect vibe for drinking awesome beer with a couple of good friends.

I've sought out beer bars in the Bay Area, LA, NYC, Boston, Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Seattle, and Uber is easily within my top... three? four? All-around awesome place, that I will never miss when I go back to Seattle.

This is a small bar with tons of big beers and great service. A few tables (one that is on fire), and a decent sized bar for sitting. Outside has a few chairs to enjoy a smoke and beer. The bar staff are usually pretty good. Lots of other great bottles, and not too crowded compared with some of the other places in the area. Overall a good place to go if you are in the area. Prices are very fair too, most not too much more then what you would see in a bottle shop. Most taps are available in growler form and bottles can be taken to go.

After hearing many good things about the Uber, I finally got a chance to check it out this past Friday.

As others have reported, it is very small - probably equal amount of chairs at the bar as there are in the other parts of the bar. The fire pit was being redone when I was there as some drunk spilled (or maybe poured) his entire beer in it the night before. Loved hearing the landlord's stories about the building, the fire pit, and the bar in general.

On tap I enjoyed the Moylans' RIS (x 2), Russian River's Salvation, and a Belgian that slips my mind right now. Bottle selection looks like part of a wall from any of the beer stores here in Seattle - rather impressive.

Service was right where it should be - kept the beer coming, dropped knowledge on the people I was with when needed, and was very personable.

I'm definitely heading back to the Uber!

Uber is a great little place with great atmosphere. The staff is friendly and they have great selection of bottles and taps. I love the table with the fire in the middle which is a nice bonus on cold winter night. They also carry a few meads on tap which was interesting having never had mead before. The website is pretty informative as well as it is updated frequently with what they are serving and what they have coming up next on draught. Prices are in line with what you would expect to pay. After hearing so much about this place and the really high rating it receives here -- I was looking forward to finally checking this place out. The first thing I noticed was how small this place is. I can't imagine more then 20-25 people in this place. After checking out the on-tap list I was confused since I knew very little about any of them. The bottle selection was awesome but I could buy these bottles a couple miles away a lot cheaper. My non-beer freak friend paid $8 for an ok stout that was only 8oz. Kinda disappointed overall, for hardcore beer lovers only. Wish they had more taps. Street parking only.
