This is about as close to beer bar heaven as I get. An intimate, quiet bar off of one of Seattle's busiest thoroughfares...it's an oasis.

Uber Tavern is small. There are a few tables, a couch, and a bar with seating for about six to eight folks. There's no kitchen, but they pack a whole lot of beer into that small space. Seventeen wisely-chosen taps, including a mix of Belgian, German, and Northwest beers. I had a snifter of Allagash Curieux and Walking Man Oatmeal Stout--both were excellent (as expected), poured properly, and in the right glassware. The seemingly unending collection of bottles is on display behind the bar and makes for nice window shopping.

This is a beer lover's bar and is a nice counterpoint or complement to Brouwer's, which is equally wonderful and much larger. It is a must visit in Seattle; I'm envious of the folks who live within walking distance of this great bar.

The beer is great, but oddly the the indoor fire pit is what I will always remember. Fantastic bottle selection. A little bit bright with all the the screens/monitors listing the beers and also how much were left in the keg. The beer selection was great. Boneyard Hop Venom was my main dish and Rodenbach grand cru was my dessert. The staff was very beer savvy, nice, not too friendly but also not too unfriendly? LOL I'll be back.

Recommended on Beer Advocate. So made the trip during Beer Safari trip to Seattle with some friends of mine. Wow. Completely agreed. I loved this place. Great, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Atmosphere was like an eclectic mix of ultra comfy living room; inside fire pit, small bar area, not too dark, moody but fun. Really had a good, relaxed stop with my friends, OK...then the beer, Great rare beers from Cascade, HOD, Midnight Sun, etc. mixed with a very good collection of taps and bottles from just about everywhere. But for a guy who wanted to tap some hard to get NW beers..it was excellent. Fresh tapped Homo Erectus from Walking Man...hmmm, my kinda session beer. perfect!
