For a wealthy town like Montecito you'd think they'd have more to offer in the way of fine beer. But alas this is wine country, fully entrenched.
None the less, there is at least The Bottle Shop. The building I believe was once a gas station. It still has the overhang out front where pumps would be.
Inside the shop is a maze of catacomb-like aisles. Off to one side is a room devoted to wine and champagne. In the opposite direction is the small beer selection. They've got the Buds and what not, but an equal amount of space has been given over to the likes of Anchor, Firestone, Pyramid, Sierra Nevada (various), Waimea Brewing, Guinness, Harp, Newcastle, Bass, Bluestar, Gordon Biersch, Piraat and Gulden Draak.
The narrow aisles makes this a crowded place to shop if there's anyone besides yourself here.
As far as service goes, I never saw a clerk in the shop the entire time I was here. I could have easily walked out with an armload of stuff and I doubt anyone would've noticed. I assume someone was around the place somewhere, but I've never saw them.
