Local shop in my town.
Small shop with a few aisles of wine along the center of the store, some cigars and hard liquor behind the counter. The back and side wall are lined with coolers, the majority of them stocked with good craft, single bombers and six packs. There are the usual macros, but it's refreshing to see most of those options pushed aside to make room for things like Firestone, Oskar Blues, Ballast Point, Green Flash, Sierra Nevada, and surprisingly, some Anchorage, Great Divide, and Bruery. The last three are pretty much impossible to find around here.
They get some limited releases like Parabola, and to my amazement, Abyss. The owner was generous enough to offer me up five bottles from the back at a great price. They're always trying to land new distributors for breweries that you can't find anywhere in the area, so I often see new selections on the shelf that weren't there last week.
Reasonable prices, great service (owners are always happy to talk shop), and the best selection in Ventura proper.

Love this place! The guy who I've encountered every time I go in is very helpful and friendly. They have a pretty wide selection of beers (but a lot more wine than anything). Still, very good service and people who care about their beer selection. Check back often because they get stuff in that you may not find again and a few beers that you can't find anywhere else in Ventura County.

A buddy of mine needed to stop by the ATM, and as we pulled near, I saw this little shop nearby, so I ran in for a look-see. Really cramped quarters upon entering. Narrow aisles run the length of the store. The right wall of the place is dedicated to beer. A nice cooler section filled with a good number of CA-offerings. Decent amount of bombers, and the Belgian section was above average. From what I saw of the prices, they seemed reasonable for the area. Nice little shop that were I staying in the area, I would get my bottle-fix for sure.

One of two decent stores I know of to find beer (the other is Five Points) in Ventura. Very good selection of West Coast beers, along with Belgians and Germans.
I do think they are pretty overpriced, and they have tried to charge me different amounts for the same beer. One day it was $6.99 for a Double Bastard. The next week a different guy tried to charge me $7.99.
Heavily distributed beers like Sierra Nevada, Anderson Valley, Firestone Walker, Green Flash and even the popular Stone 6-packs can be found often a few dollars cheaper within a mile or two of this store.
All that to say, if money is NO object, you can have a lot of fun in this store. They do have an impressive selection. But if you care about getting the best value for your dollar, it can be a little frustrating.

What a gem!
The Wine Castle, as you'd expect, has aisle after aisle of wine. From the name you'd guess they only wine, so they were smart to add "Beer and Wine" on the sign as well. Around the outskirts of all this grape juice you'll find coolers lining the walls with Rogue, Stone, Young's, Chimay, St.Peter's, Erdinger, Piraat, Petrus, Samuel Smith's, Sheaf, Island, Cooper's, Alaskan, Anderson Valley, Waimea, Kona, Sierra Nevada, Anchor, Pyramid, Firestone, Flying Dog, Sam Adams, Smithwick's, Carlsberg, Hoegarden, Murphy's, Fuller's, Old Speckled Hen, Kronenberg, and that's all I had time to write down.
Most of the brands are represented by more than one of their different styles.
Overall the prices are uniformly quite reasonable. If not low, they were at most on average.
The aisles are tidy, the shelves are well stocked, and the entire place is very clean.
The Wine Castle is part of a larger shopping area with ample parking.
But my favorite thing about this place is that only about 5% of the cooler space is taken up with BMC.
