Why could I drink this all night?
Because it's friggin' good, that's why.
This hefe-weiss came out of the bottle with a huge, bubbley head. It was almost ivory in color and made a wonderful contrast against the golden-straw with an orange tint hue of the beer itself. There was a slight layer of "cloud" that seemed to "support" the head, a visual addition to the remarkability of its appearance. Very impressive.
The initial smell was that of fresh, summertime fruit salad. I actually picked up on some nice berry notes.
The tange and the citrus that comes across on the very first taste is decent. It is not invasive, nor is it passive. A warm, soft spice nuance comes underneath and secondary to the zinge of the lemon-orange citrus flavor. A mild banana flavor is present. There is a crystal-like snap on the tongue with just a mild presence of a hop flavor...a clean finish follows. This is truly a smooth-sippin', flavorful announcement of craftmanship.
I never really felt as though hefeweizen was a beer for me, that I could enjoy it on a whim. This brew has proven that theory very wrong.
