Couldn't help but get the Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier glass out for this one.
Pours a very cloudy orange, darker at the top (of course, the glass is wider there). Thick white foamy head that dissipates surprisingly quickly. It did go approx 5 mm above the rim of the glass without any spillage. Thin layer of white hangs around for remainder No lacing. Poured from a 50 cl brown bottle (exp Sep08).
Smells of cloves and banana, and some orange. Hints of sweetness.
Tastes a little fruity and very creamy up front. Bubble-gum banana flavor stands out with a hint of cloves, I think. Carbonation is also noticeable.
Mouthfeel is very creamy. Full body, with carbonation that lingers on the back of my throat. Bananas also linger.
I must admit, 2 years ago I was not a fan of Hefe's, but after living in Germany, I love them. This one is my favorite.
