A-Cloudy yellow-orange color. Large head that soon disipated.

S-Slightly citrusy, with a hint of spice.

T-Citrus taste is very prominent but not overwhelming in the least. The spice adds much to the overall taste of the beer.

MF-Much more carbonated than expected, which isn't great but not bad at all.

D-The carbonation might be a bit much when combined with the spicy flavor. Besides that, the sediment is pleasent on the tongue.

Overall-One of the first brews to get me into the craft-brew scene. For that reason, and for the amazing taste, this is and will be among my favorite beers of all time.

Tap at tavern in the square in Northborough.

Nice creamy rich 1 Finger head fades at a med pace then retains well at the bottom, super hazy murky cloudy carrot orange color.

Nose typical hefe, lots of creamy wheat, plenty of citrus and mild orange peel, some spices clove hint coriander, some banana esters, etc.

Taste brings more of the same, basic Bavarian hefe, creamy wheat, not really toasted wheat just clean creamy base, with some light citrus and orange zest, touch tangy. Into esters, banana, clove spices, little coriander, etc. Finish is creamy sticky but dry, bit more spices, banana esters, and orange zest.

Mouth is med bod, creamy, decent carb.

Overall nice hefe, typical Bavarian hefe but not amazing. Nice summer hot day beer.

Scorching hot weekday in NC, what better way to take the edge off at the end of a long day than a good Hefe from the Fatta-land.

A beautiful pour with a nuclear mushroom cloud of a bright, tight white head. Pure hazy golden beauty with minimal bubbles. It smells nice and rich with the yeasty signature of banana and cloves prevelant over a malty base. The taste is very nice with a very strong malt backbone, the signature yeasty flavors following he nose and very little bitterness at all. It's fullbodied and goes down wetly, very satisfying.

Overall, a great Hefe, right up there with Weihenstaphan in my book. A perfect summer thirst quencher. Time to change into my leiderhosen.

Pint bottle into a pilsner glass.

A - Hazy light tan/yellow (a bit livid) with a quickly dissapating white foam that leaves almost no lace. Really a bit clearer than a lot of hefeweizens I've seen.

S - Rising bread dough. Yeasty with a hint of banana.

T - Lots of banana and bread- start to finish. Oh and some cloves! Just a slight hint of hops toward the end that very nicely compliments the overall character. A bit cloying, though.

M - Ebullient and full. Just as nice as it warms a bit.

O - Really a bit more robust than Weihenstephaner or Paulaner. I brewed a very nice all-grain quasi-hefe once (with T-58). I'd not really noticed the banana flavour and never cloves in those like I did in this one. It's nice, but I'm not sure I like it more than Paulaner. Dings in score for the cloying, overwhelming-ness. In some of my reviews, brew gets dinged for not having much "muchness". This one has a bit much "muchness" in flavour. Still good, though!
