Sampled after a 16 oz. Smuttynose pumpkin ale and an ahi tuna sandwich at a local St. Augustine watering hole.
A: Poured a rich amber brown in the glass with a toasted marshmellow head. No chill haze and ready to drink.
S: Smells of rich malts and slight hints of hops and spices. Very subtle.
T: Love how this one tastes. It's a subtle beer with just the right balance of hops and octoberfest spices (anise, ginger, etc.) in the background to make you pause and wonder if they're really present.
M: Definitely a "wet" beer, has no dry finish and leaves you refreshed and wanting another pint. Very low on the hops scale, alcoholics are there but not overpowering.
O: Again, an overall well balanced octoberfestbier. This is one you could drink out of giant German beer steins and not be overwhelmed by hops flavors. A great "mass quanities" party beer.

Pours translucent amber with 1/2 inch of off-white head that fades to a thin cap on top and leaves nice spotty lace.
Smell is somewhat muted and consists of grainy malt, Autumn spices and faint citrus.
Taste is of grains and malt with accents of cinnamon, clove and nutmeg with faint tart citrus on the finish.
Texture is medium bodied with high carbonation.
A decent, if not remarkable, effort. Easy drinking and sessionable.
