Consumed in October 2004 at the Toronado on tap. Poured with a small head and decent lace. Had remotely no smell at all. Maybe a small amount of malt and hops, but barley any. Tasted the same as it smelled but a little better. Roasted malt and very little hops. Went down fairly easy and would have again if it were the only Octoberfest available.

Clear golden color with a thick two finger head with decent retention and leaving some laces.
Floral aroma with notes of Munich malt sweetness and lager yeast.
Flavor is more present with notes of biscuit malt with controlled sweetness balanced by herbal and floral hops. Just a hint of caramel, spices and citrusy acidity. Mildly dry aftertaste with a light to medium bitterness.
Light bordering medium body with appropriate carbonation.
A pleasant Märzen, although quite malty it is not cloying, showing that hops are doing their work behind the curtains. Faithful to style.
