Poured a coppery/brownish color with minimal head from the festival tap. Mild lacing remained in the cup.
Not much in the smell here: hints of hops are the only discernable smell aside from its standard "lager-y" scent.
The taste presents its malty qualities up front and finishes with medium hoppy bitterness. But that's about it -- this is a simple beer.
This medium-bodied beer feels a wee bit sharper than expected in the mouth, but not beyond expectations based on this beer's other qualities. Reasonably crisp overall and pretty drinkable, hence its inclusion in an Oktoberfest-style festival lineup.
Not a bad beer (and I certainly prefer it to Spaten's regular offering), but nothing special either.

Clear golden color with a thick two finger head with decent retention and leaving some laces.
Floral aroma with notes of Munich malt sweetness and lager yeast.
Flavor is more present with notes of biscuit malt with controlled sweetness balanced by herbal and floral hops. Just a hint of caramel, spices and citrusy acidity. Mildly dry aftertaste with a light to medium bitterness.
Light bordering medium body with appropriate carbonation.
A pleasant Märzen, although quite malty it is not cloying, showing that hops are doing their work behind the curtains. Faithful to style.
