Had in a Spaten Oktoberfest pint glass. Poured a clear copper with a rich, creamy head that dissipates slowly into a cap and leaves a mild amount of lacing. Caramel malts, earthy hops, and big nutty notes are all detected on the nose. Taste is very rich and malty, and leaves behind a berry like aftertaste. There is also an earthy bitterness on the end. Medium bodied beer that leaves a syrupy texture in the mouth, but drinks very easy.
Overall: Very well balanced and delicious marzen, even though it's an Americanized one.

Clear golden color with a thick two finger head with decent retention and leaving some laces.
Floral aroma with notes of Munich malt sweetness and lager yeast.
Flavor is more present with notes of biscuit malt with controlled sweetness balanced by herbal and floral hops. Just a hint of caramel, spices and citrusy acidity. Mildly dry aftertaste with a light to medium bitterness.
Light bordering medium body with appropriate carbonation.
A pleasant Märzen, although quite malty it is not cloying, showing that hops are doing their work behind the curtains. Faithful to style.
