Copper. Sort of malty and bready but not with the body I'd expect from the style.

S: i rate all beers a 3 on smell due to my lack of smell

T: like a butter scotch candy .

M: thick and heavy in general.

O: average for its style, just seems to be missing something

The beer pours a deep, clear amber...almost black-amber...with a 1/2 inch of a fluffy, off-white head that laces. The nose is quite estery and sweet and the taste follows suit with a big malt backbone and almost no bite from the alcohol. It's very smooth drinking and finishes dry. This beer is undoubtably German and hits the spot...even though I'm drinking it in the middle of summer. I would have preferred a rich beer like this last fall.
