Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: Pours a clear dark rust color, with two fingers of off-white head. Good lacing.
Smell: Very malty, with notes of bread and honey. No hop presence to speak of. Maybe a hint of alcohol.
Taste: Intensely sweet. A mix of sweet malt and burnt chocolate, which fades into a nice honey-bready sweetness. The sweetness is almost to the point of being cloying, but not quite. The alcohol is present in the background. As the beer warms, the sweetness does become a little overpowering.
Mouthfeel: Thick and creamy. Good carbonation.
Drinkability: This is one thick and heavy beer - one is enough. This is a straightforward malt bomb, with no other flavors/complexity to note of. One is definitely enough, but this isn't exactly a style to session. Solid beer.
