First things first....Outlaws makes the best burgers in Los Angeles. Disagree? I invite you down. Sure, Fathers Office's burgers are very tasty...if you don't like the taste of meat ;)

Located in Playa del Rey, if you've ever been in the area you've seen this place. Probably drove by it a dozen times thinking "We should stop in there one of these days". Once the picture is approved you'll recognize the joint. With the famous weather rock out front and the huge cowboy kickin back on the roof this saloon style bar is a ""Grubbin’ an’ Guzzlin’ Establishment". Outdoor patio seating for the nice sunny Southern California days and big screen tv's in doors to catch your favorite games.

Lets talk about the burgers. From 1/4 lb minnies to 2 lb w/polish sausage massives, there is a burger for everyone. Made with fantastic top sirloin, quality cheeses, crispy bacon and tasty buns...these are the best burgers in Los Angeles.

The tap beer selection is simple but satisfy (Dead Guy, Warsteiner, Bass, Stella and Widmer Hefe) but doesn't rotate. They've had DG and Warsteiner for as long as I can remember.

Bottle selection is better, with a total of 96 beers to choose from. Broken down into sections by country, there is a good variety for every mood. Chimay, Duvel, McEwans, Old Peculiar, Samisclaus, Franzikaner, Red Stripe, Dixie brews, Sierra Nevada, Anchors, variety of Mexican beers, etc etc. They also have a small selection of American Domestics listed under the "Greenhorns and Tenderfoots" section.

Another cool feature of the place is the 80 Beer Plaque. They keep a log of the different beers you drink in a book and when you hit #80 you get your name on a plaque on the wall.

Come for the burgers, stay for the beer.

Stopped here after surfing down at Gillis today, right across the street from one of my favorite local hangouts named The Shack, Cool layed back atmosphere, went pretty early in the day but there was still a good amount of people in there drinking already and having breakfast and lunch, they have five taps and close to a hundred bottles, taps were their own Outlaws Pale Ale, Widmer Hefeweizen, Stella Artois, Bass, and Rogue Dead Guy Ale, nothing special here, some bottles were Chimay, Duvel, and some seasonal Samuel Admas offerings, place was pretty neat inside and looked rather old with tons of old beer bottles lining the tops of the walls, service was quick and on the money, decided to not grab a burger because I had not even eaten breakfast yet, prices were not too bad for beer or food, think pints were around four dollars and burgers range eight to twenty plus dollars if you ordered a thirty-two ouncer which I would love to see someone try to finish, I went to my parent's house to eat instead today, beer selection was pretty weak but most BAs could find something they enjoy there, will grab some food next time I go but I am not in a hurry to get back, worth checking out only if you are in the immediate area

I was in the area today and I remember the good things I had read about this place, so I stopped by for a late lunch/early dinner. It's not easy to find, as it is snuggled in on the south side of the street as Culver turns in Vista Del Mar.

Appearance: It's a cheesy looking place with cheap faux/BS Western decor, much like Dr. Hogly Wogly's in Van Nuys, but it's not cheesy enough to complete the cycle to so bad that it works. There were a few people in to watch the Giants/Eagles game at the bar and a couple sitting in front of us. Everybody was drinking light beer. There was no music playing.

Quality: The beer was served ice cold. Not Father's Office cold, this was like some crappy bar in Florida, which serves both kinds of beer, in the middle of a humid and hot August day, coldest beer in town cold.

Service: The waitress was nice and she got our orders right, but she took a long, long time to get us the bill.

Selection: This would get a 3.25 from me if that score were available. The beers on-tap were Dead Guy Ale, Bass, Warsteiner, Widmer Hefeweizen, and Stella Artois. Pretty pathetic for a beerflyed establishment. There are several places that I wouldn't enter it into beerfly have a better draft selections. The have some good bottled beers, as Westsidethreat noted, but I can buy most of those at my local super markets. I gave Westwood Brew Co. a 3.5 and their selection is comparable, maybe not as good on paper, but they have a several good beers on-tap and I almost never order readily available bottled beers at bars. Naturally, I ordered a frosty Dead Guy Ale.

Food: My burger was very good, but is it the best in the city? The owners, employees, and patrons of Apple Pan, Father's Office, Library Ale House, The Counter, The Farm, and that weird old tudor-themed place on Los Feliz would beg to differ.

Value: The burgers are reasonably priced, ranging between $7 and $30 for a two pound behemoth, as is the beer.
