Before I turned 21, my friends went here periodically to buy a few interesting beers to try. Just yesterday, we returned to Philly for a day trip, and this was one of our destinations.

I was blown away. The beer selection was vast and diverse; i could barely decide what to choose for their 'make your own six-pack' system. After choosing my beers, I asked the clerk about HopSlam, and he was willing to sell me one from their private stash. That alone was enough to sell me on this place. Granted, it wasn't cheap, and my wallet was hurting after I made my purchases, but the guys there readily admitted that price was their one weak point, since they're not a distributor. But that was fine with me; these guys knew their stuff and were stocked with a bunch of the beers I had been looking for for a long time. If you're going to Philly, go here. Lord knows I'm going back next time I take a PA day trip.

I stumbled upon this Foodery as I parked my bike across the street at Standard Tap. It looks so much better and bigger than the original Foodery on 10th and Pine! Cleaner, airier, more beer… the works.

They have a menu of sandwiches and things you can order and eat at a dining area by the beer coolers.

As usual, they have a ton of rare and expensive brews here: Black Albert ($12.95), De la Senne Taras Bulba, Old Stock Brandy ’11 ($28.95), Lost Abbey Agave Maria and Track #8 ($25+), Evil Twin Black Out, Mikkeller Black… plus lots of beers from all the major craft-beer brands, big and small.

They also sell cheese and gourmet food things to go, in case you want to go home and party. When I was there they were having an Ithaca tasting, which included a bunch of good stuff (not only Flower Power) and free sandwiches. Nice people as well.
