What a gem in the heart of the chi-chi district in Philly. Highly extensive and solid selection of brews from all over the country. Russian River Damnation; Avery 14, Samaels, Hog Heaven, etc; Lost Abby; Green Flash; Southern Tier; Bells; German, Belgian, you name it, they've probably got it. However, you will pay and pay and pay dearly, my friend, for the priveledge of their diverse selection. A bomber of Avery 14 for $12.50?! Ditto for Port Brewings Old Viscosity ?! Totally out of line, big city or not. But given the suprisingly limited beer bar scene offering anything outside of PA's borders (besides Phillys two superior Belgian bars), it's almost worth the gouging. I did enjoy the selection and the opportunity to crack open my overpriced Old Viscosity right there on premises whilest reading the latest BA mag. Clientele is primarily yupee and hipster. The two young geeks on duty seemed to know their beer when asked. A must if you can't find anything good in the local beer bar or just crave something exceptional.

I stumbled upon this Foodery as I parked my bike across the street at Standard Tap. It looks so much better and bigger than the original Foodery on 10th and Pine! Cleaner, airier, more beer… the works.

They have a menu of sandwiches and things you can order and eat at a dining area by the beer coolers.

As usual, they have a ton of rare and expensive brews here: Black Albert ($12.95), De la Senne Taras Bulba, Old Stock Brandy ’11 ($28.95), Lost Abbey Agave Maria and Track #8 ($25+), Evil Twin Black Out, Mikkeller Black… plus lots of beers from all the major craft-beer brands, big and small.

They also sell cheese and gourmet food things to go, in case you want to go home and party. When I was there they were having an Ithaca tasting, which included a bunch of good stuff (not only Flower Power) and free sandwiches. Nice people as well.
