Big City Lager
Appearance: Pours a clear deep golden body beneath a thin finger of creamy white froth that holds surprisingly well. Better than average head retention and lacing.
Smell: Sweet, sugary malt base. Adjunct-loaded... very little actual malt is found. Sweetish and mildly corn-like. Some fruitiness, mainly apple.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a median carbonation.
Taste: Sweetish, sugary, and alcohol-infused malt base. Some very muddled hops underneath don't really display any character... kind of like a buttery finger smeared on toast, there's some butter there, yes, the tongue finds it, but mainly it's toast. Very mild bitterness. Still, it doesn't go too far out of balance, it's just on the sweet side.
Overall: It's not a very good beer, but as a very low-priced beer ($10 something / 24 cans) it's not a drain-pour. I'd suggest that this is a great beer straight from the ice during a long deep-sea fishing charter during August off the coast of Florida.
