This is a poor man's treasure - 30 pack for $12.99! Tastes much better than the usual suspects in the light category. Color is darker than I expected for a light beer as well as the flavor which has a sweet, malty ring to it. In closing - you can pay a lot more, but for what?

I found this light beer at my local beer store in a 30 pack cans with a great price and think for domestic light beers you cannot beat the price and taste is better than my other domestic light beers when I am reach for a beer and not a soda. I have had all the other main stream domestic lights and for the money, I think I found my new brand when drinking a domestic light beer.

Thanks again to woodychandler for another canned beer for me to try. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a pale yellowish color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is dominated by corn. Taste is also corn heavy, slightly sweet, not a great flavor, but more flavor than I am used to in light beers. Feels light in the mouth and overall is not a bad representation of a weak style.

It is New Beer Sunday and TheManiacalOne recently sent me some new CANs to keep things chugging along on the ramp-up to # 500 on The CANQuest (TM).
I have had reason to think about Greg Koch lately, having assisted his local (mid-Atlantic) sales rep yesterday at a fest and watching his cameo in the Victory 15th Anniversary video, and this was definitely fizzy yellow beer! My pour created two fingers of rocky, bone-white head with decent retention. Color was a pale lemon-yellow with NE-quality clarity. Nose was heavy on corn with an underlying lager sweetness. Mouthfeel was on the thin side with a concord grape flavor in the mouth. Man, I really do NOT dig that flavor in a beer! Finish was still grapey with a residual sweetness that lingered. A tagline on the CAN read: "A Light, Full-Bodied Brew" as though it could not make up its mind. I made up my mind that I was not impressed, even at 113 calories. 0 for 3 on the Special Reserve front.

Poured from a 12oz can into a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a light yellow color, with a short white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.
S: The aroma is of grain, adjuncts, light malts and a very faint touch of hops.
T: The taste starts with a light breadiness from flavors of grain and adjuncts. Then a light malt sweetness follows along with a very faint hops presence even for the style. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: A little crisp and a little smooth but kind of watery, light body, medium-to-high carbonation, finish is clean.
D: Not too flavorful, goes down easily and is not too filling since there's not much to the beer, very mild kick, there are several other below average beers in the style that I would choose first.

A: The can looks great! With fancy cursive writing, the blue appeals to the guys and the purple appeals to the ladies. For the beer I didn't see it, but the little that spilled appeared a light yellow hue.
S: With about 10-15 cans in your living room, it smells of what I am imagine a cornbread filled pop tart.
D: Off the charts

Pours clear pale golden yellow with a modest head that hangs around awhile.
Aroma is an odd musty rotting vegetable smell, with an underlying sweetness that does not help. I'm surprised at just how bad this smells.
Taste is grainy corn adjunct. Plenty of dry pale malt, with modest sweetness. Lemon grass and a touch of honey. Finish has a light noble hop bitterness. After the terrible nose, the taste isn't that bad.
Mouthfeel is light bodied.
Once you start drinking this one the aroma blends in and doesn't seem quite so bad. The flavor is more robust than anything I had expected.

Poured the typical American light Bright Yellow with the fizzy white head.
The smell is funky, with corn and a skunky grassy and a Diactyle smell.
The taste is much improved over the smell, but still nothing great. Very light and watery with just a hint of buttery diacytle and light corny malt and a very light touch of lemon in the finish.
The mouthfeel is light and thin.
Overall not a bad light beer, even the bad smell at first sort of grew on me a bit by the end of the beer, a little bit fuller flavored than some of the big advertising budget light beers out there.

At $11.99 for a 30 pack I wasn't expecting a premium beer... Even though the box says it is. It looks like see-through goldish yellow water with soapy fizz on top. Smells not good. Like some unidentified chemical and typical cheap fermentables such as corn or rice or grass clippings. Quite earthy and unpleasant in both taste and stench. But it doesn't have that horrible bitter bite that some cheap beers have... So I give it a "2" instead of a "1.5" in that particular category. Watery, therefore easy to drink. It was everything I expected it to be. I'll keep it in the downstairs bar frige for when my mooching freeloader friends come by as ask for beer.

Poured a very pale golden color with moderate white puffy head. Nice lacing as the head slowly fell to a thin coating.Smell is minimal with a slight note of fruit. Taste is also mild with a mild fruitiness. Finish is creamy and very refreshing. A light refreshing beer with good drinkability. Good spacer.

Poured light yellow, with no head retention. Smells of corn and lots of skunk. Taste is chock full of off-flavors. Skunky malt, with an aftertaste that is hard to describe it so bad. Not good at all. Gave me a headache, even though I only had 2-3 of these. (really cheap, though. $12 a 30 pack)

Simple swill in light form. Nothing to write home about. Mostly flavor of alcohol and water, with a bit of hops and corn. This is for college students looking to get loaded for minimum cash. I'd go for something else if i was short on cash, and i'd advise you to do the same.

I cant believe someone else has tried this beer. My roommate spotted a 30 pack of this for 9.99. After tax its about 40 cents each. This was three bucks cheaper than the High Life 30 pack sitting right next to it. That should be a good clue about how this one is. Skip it!

Ah yes, yet another mass-produced, cheap light lager. This has been popping up in 30-packs in stores everywhere. I picked up a single for 40 cents. Pours out to a very pale yellow with a rapidly dissolving head. Mouthfeel is slightly grainy with a hint of corn. Extremely watery. Nothing to speak of in terms of taste or body.
