Served on tap at the brewery.

Little head quickly fades away to nothing except a small ring around the glass. No lacing on the glass. The aroma stands out on this beer. Sweet munich and other german malts dominate. The taste follows suite with a rich balance of malt and hop. Overall, I am really enjoying this red lager, a style that I don't think I've had in the past. With a little more body, this could be a great beer.

Pours a nice amber with a very nice head. Smell is very light, with a hint of malt. Taste is ok, mainly malty and sweet, with some light spice notes. Mouthfeel is slightly chewy. Overall, drinkability is good, mainly a smooth quality with a decent hop finish.

On draft at the brewery.

Poured a light amber hue with a wispy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell featured light Munich malts and a subtle noble hop.

The taste consisted of dry Munich malts with a considerable huskiness to the grain.

The mouthfeel was overly dry.

The presence of the tannins in this beer makes it difficult to enjoy.

This poured to a bronze color with a thin head. The aroma was average, as some sweetness from the malt was the only smell noticable. The flavor was very sweet as the malt was dominating. Little bitterness was detected. No other flavors were detected.

This is a heavier bodied beer with minimal carbonation causing a flat mouthfeel. Drinkable, but a little too flat and sweet for drinking several of these.

Sampled as part of a 6 beer flite at the brewpub. THis is an amber lager and is a great attempt at an easy drinking intro into the darker side of things. Pour is of an amber color with an off white full head. Slight maltiness in the nose, very inviting. The flavor is sweet and malty with crystal malt note prominately displayed. The flavor is never too sweet and the body is not syrupy like many in this style can be. The finish is short and sweet, nice beer

This beer is quite serviceable, though it's not going to win any beauty awards. No head, lacing, ruddy copper color. I was craving an Oktoberfest to watch a football game with, and this is a nice substitute with the Munich and probably Caramunich malts. About average malt notes on the nose. Big nuttiness, subtly sweet caramel, mild earthiness, and a tad woody. Fairly smooth tasting with a medium body and light carbonation.

Draught @ Brewpub: This one pours a fairly clear amber color. There was no head or lacing. It has a lighter aroma. Mainly caramel malts. Anything else? I couldn’t tell. The taste is a bit malty sweet. No hops to speak of. Not well balanced at all.

Excellent red lager! This poured a dark amber with a white head. Good amount of lacing on the glass. The smell was slightly sweet and a good hint of the malts. The taste was also slightly sweet and with just a fair amount of carbonation, it went down smooth. A good session beer -- perfect with a burger or wings. My favorite of the three beers (the chaos stout and the winkle lager being the other two) that I had at Hyde Park.

A- pours a dark copper, translucent color served with about 1 finger head that lingers for a while but leaves little lacing.
S- Very fresh, sweet caramel malts. Slight hop aroma, also picking up a cherry aroma.
T- Starts off very sweet with a cherry taste, finishes slightly hoppy, but the malt sticks around to balance it out until the end.
M- very light in body for a red lager, but still refreshing with good carbonation.
0- recommended if you are there, would be a lot better with more of a body, but overall decent brew.
