Nice establishment; clean, well lit, large dining/bar seating area. There's also a side room with a stage for a small band. Also, there's a couple of pool tables, video games, and shuffle board. The brewing equipment is visible from the dining/bar area. The service is friendly and eager. They are also knowledgeable and informative. Their beer selection at any one time is limited to six different brews as well as some of the more general large scale domestic beers. Food was good; salads, burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, and some bbq. The prices weren't bad. Overall, a neat little brewpub that I look forward to going back to.

Visited at 6pm on a Friday night. Quickly seated in bar area. Service was fine and food was good. However, I was very disappointed to find out that they only had 4 beers on tap and 3 of them were A-B products! The available beers were Shocktop, Michelob Amber Bock, Bud American Ale and a Marzen which the waitress said was brewed there. The visable brew house was dark as the lights weren't even on. My wife asked for a cider but nothing available by tap or bottle. I am left to think that they must be closing soon. Why would a place that bills itself as a brewhouse only have one on tap and then three commercials available?

I am not planning to go back as my money will go to places that actually make an effort to brew.

Oh, the Marzen? Meh...

Been wanting to visit Alandale since it opened, but I haven't been back to STL for a few years. Stopped off here with my parents for a few pints before dinner. Located off the main drag in Kirkwood. Walking in there are pool tables to the left and the bar to the right. Lots of nice wood and glass.

We tried the Amber, Vienna, Stout, and IPA. All were solid with the IPA standing out.

Service was excellent and prices reasonable at less than $4 a pint.

Didn't eat there, but next time I am in town I would stop by to eat and drink

Alandale's is located in Kirkwood which is not too far from St. Louis. It is on E Jefferson and there is a small private lot adjacent that stays pretty full, as well as street parking all around.

The interior has a bar and dining area to the right, and another dining area that was under construction during my visit. Sea foam green and wood are the motif. The bar is large and V-shaped, and most seats have a view of the street thanks to large windows. The current beer list is on a large chalkboard, with the brewing equipment visible behind glass right next to it.

The beer selection numbers around eight with one or two seasonals. The beers are available in samples if you ask the bartender nicely, as there is no "formal" sampler on the menu. They range from Lager to Porter, with a couple of interesting options like Altbier mixed in. Overall the beers are average to above average.

Service was pretty good on a Wednesday evening. The bartender was familiar with all the beers and willing to pour samples for me.

Food here is good. My BBQ burger was very tasty, and the homemade chips were as well.

Overall this spot is worth checking out when in the STL area thanks to a pretty good group of beers and enjoyable food.

Alandale Brewing Company is a large brewpub that did not seem very intimate when we visited. The beer was very good, and the food above average, so this is a place to which I would likely return.

The service staff the day I visited was not very knowledgeable, one responding to my request for a recommendation of their many beers with, "Weeeelll, I'm not a big beer drinker . . ." (this was the bartender).

I was happy with my choice of Dopplebock. It was malty and a little sweet - not an easy style to pull off. My sexy wife had the chocolate stout and was also very pleased.

The beer cheese soup was good, and there was a baby changing station in the men's room.

Finally was able to stop in and try the beer and food at Alandale. Stopped by on a cold and rainy Thursday night. The crowd was sparse but two rooms were buzzing with what looked to be Holiday office parties.

The beers listed for the night were the IPA, Chocolate Stout, Cedar Creek, Doppelbock, Amber Ale, American Wheat, Pilsner,Platinum Blond Lager, Blackberry Wheat and one or two others I can't recall.

Started off with the IPA which was very good and the beer cheese soup which was equally impressive. My second beer was the Bronze lager which was paired with an incredible Cuban sandwich.

After stuffing myself, I ended with the Doppelbock. It's a slow-drinking beer for sure and quite nice.

Service was very good and the atmosphere was relaxed. I will definitely be back for more of their food and beer.

This new joint is in the quaint downtown area of Kirkwood, just outside of St. Louis. Kirkwood is a nice up-scale neighborhood with lots of cool little restaurants and a neat looking wine shop that was unfortunately closed the night we were there.

Alandale is tucked just off of the main drag, and offers ample parking just behind the pub. There is an outdoor sidewalk seating area, a bar area with a cool view of the brewing apparatus behind glass walls, and a fancy restaurant area with booths and tables. The decor in the restaurant area is very modern and upscale, and the whole place really gives off a "fancy-restaurant" vibe.

The food was excellent, but a bit pricey. I had a really nice burger to go along with my IPA, and my fiance had the tasty Blackberry Wheat with here chicken ceasar salad. The price of the food is offset by the cheap brew. 16oz pints were only $3.75! That's what you would pay at most bars for a 12oz bottle of macro crap! I think my growler was $11 or $12 (refills are $9 I think), so that's a good deal too.

Our waiter was nice and competent, but I got the feeling that he really didn't know anything about beer other than what he was told when he got the job. That's ok though, I think he might have been under 21 anyhow.

One of the owners did stop by our table to see how we liked everything, and I told him how great the IPA was, and how great of a job they are doing for a new place. I am genuinely impressed by the place.

The beer, ah...the beer is outstanding, especially for a new place, and you can get a 16oz pint or a 12oz "split." Check out my reviews to see just how impressed I was. Their dopplebock is particularly noteworthy.

Overall, I really enjoyed this place. I got a growler of their oatmeal stout, and I will definitely be stopping by to refill that sucker the next time I am in St. Louis! Another plus...this place is just off of 44, so it's on the way to Six Flags from my neck of the woods!

I've been coming to this place fairly regularly since they opened. At first they seemed divided over whether they were a brewpub or a restaurant. At some point since opening, they decided. They're both.

In my opinion, Alandale has quietly become the best brewpub in town by focusing on making solid beer and delicious food. Their IPA and Oatmeal stouts are standouts with all the other beers being more than acceptable.

Food wise, well, I've yet to try anything at Alandale that wasn't delicious and unique. Even the pub standard fare, pulled pork, burgers, hot wings, etc are all done with unique twists and manage to avoid being ordinary or generic. Best yet, Alandale features a happy hour with $2.00 drafts (16 ozs) and some appetizers at half price.

Really, as good or better than any other brewpub in town.

We visited during lunchtime and sat outdoors on the sidewalk. The interior is large and clean. No smoking, which is great in my opinion. Local bands (jazz, etc.) on Tuesday evenings.

The food menu is rather broad, American Bistro fare. Vegetarian options are available. Everything my party ordered was well received (Garden Wrap, Fish & Chips, Burger, etc.). The website has the menu (I wish they offered more info about their beers online- or on the hard menu).

Although the beer are rather "safe" I was impressed that they had equal representation of ales (4) and lagers (4). The beer menu was not very informative about the beers but it did offer food pairing tips for each brew. The server offered that the beers were listed on the menu from "lightest to darkest". (Well that's certainly enlightening!)

When we visited they had: Amber Ale, American IPA, American Wheat Ale, Oatmeal Stout, Bronze lager, Vienna Lager, Doppelbock, and Platinum Blonde Lager. I only tried the IPA and Stout, both were enjoyable but the stout was especially well done.

The brewpub also has a full bar, kegs, and growlers.

Atmosphere - Casual. But the place still had a "stuffy" feel to it. I think it had more to do with the uptight desidens that live in that part of Kirkwood that were there. We, a party of 6, showed up at 7pm on a Saturday, and were promptly seated in the bar area which was suprisingly large. Towards 9pm the "uptight" crowd showed up, nothing kills a mood faster than a 45 year old drunk single woman and her friends standing directly behind you and screaming at the top of their lungs because they can't hear each other.

Quality - Good. Non smoking which was excellent. The air was clean and they actually had the doors open to let the warm air in and helped keep the place cool and refreshing.

Service - Average/Good. Our waitress kept her eye on us but did not have a good knowledge of the beers on tap. She did keep our beers full and did offer growlers to us!

Selection - Excellent selection. We started with pub chips and Gus's Pretzels, Gus's are a St. Louis staple. The selection of appitizers was great and the entree's were to die for. I ended up getting Fish and Chips and the fried Pollack was very tender and tasty. The wife got the beer cheese soup and a ceaser salad. According to her it was just as good but the serving was rather small for 4 bucks, maybe about a cup of soup.

Food - See above. No one in our party complained about the food. There was great selections, but there did not appear to be a nightly special, but this might change.

Overall, this is deffiently a place to try. I plan on going back to get a growler, which they just came out with this week (week of 4/20)!
