Highly floral and smoothly citrusy, the Shiner brands step into the Belgo-brew world with a wheated ale that takes on the fruit and spice balance that's uniquely Witbier.

As the ale pours a cloudy straw color while the head floats above with a creamy and ivory tinted lather. Its fairly resilient foam structure endures most of the session and laces the glass with broken frothy rings at each drink.

Popping with a highly floral perfume, overtones of coriander and orange peels gives the scent a soft spiciness and juicy citrus character. Supporting wheat seems to give the fruit and spice a candied aroma while hints of apple and lemon acidity link up with peppery spice for a piquant balance.

Wheat and grain sweetness settle on the initial taste like powdered sugar- this candied taste gives a juiciness to the orange, apple, and lemon flavor that grows in the middle. Wafts of coriander offer its own spicy fruitiness while echoes of perfume return in aftertaste. Its finish of minty bitterness is met with light vanilla for a smooth and summery taste.

Creamy and medium-bodied, the ale starts off with just enough body to imply fullness. But as the sweetness dissolves and the carbonation fades, it leaves behind a the slight acidity of citrus and white wine to resonate in finish.

White Wing might be overly simplistic in taste and body, but the overwhelming perfume of orange peels and coriander completely seduce the senses even as the ale carries an orange soda pop character.

Bottle best by 7/13/14 at 45 degrees into standard pint glass
Aroma of coriander
Head average (3 cm), white, creamy, fully diminishing to 2 mm layer
Lacing virtually none
Body very light yellow, hazy
Flavor is sweet, spicy, and citrus flavor; no malt, no alcohol, no diacetyl, no hops bitterness
Palate is light, watery, lively carbonation

This is a nice little beer which, to me, tastes more like a Belgium witte than an IPA.

Pours an effervescent light straw color with 2+ fingers of pearl white head. Below average lacing & head retention

S: Pears, white grapes, a touch of white pepper, fades once warm

T: White grape, golden delicious apple & a bit of lemon, plus a little coriander up front. A little bit of orange peel as this warms, lemon,& white pepper. Finishes a bit watery with coriander & lemon & a bit of juicy fruit

MF: Light bodied, firm carbonation, body thins out even more when warm

Drinks very easy, but not one to session on. I was already a little tired of the flavor profile after about 4 ounces. Could do a few in August I'm sure. Would rather have a blue moon...

Picked this up as part of a mixed 6 because I tend to like wheat beers. Okay appearance, not the murky look that i like of wheat beer and decent smell, but kinda weak. Taste was much better than expected after look and smell. Overall a decent beer but not one I will revisit unless the cost is good. Also loses points due to being below 5%.

12oz brown bottle with a freshness date.

Shiner branching out again with their rendition of a Witbier. I made sure to stir up the dregs to ensure that cloudy muddle character know in most. Subtle all around with any kind of spicing, bready wheat is very smooth and there is a mild sweetness within.

Not half bad bit nothing really pops here, nothing lively.
