Pours the color of straw with a finger length white head that dissipates quickly. The smell is very mild, but I could pick up some malt. The taste is fairly crisp and clean and the hop flavor is mild. If I had to sum up the taste, I'd say it was fairly average. The mouthfeel was light. This is an average beer overall. I picked this up as part of the Shiner Family Reunion six pack.

Bought this for a cookout I went to yesterday because it was pretty darn hot and wanted something on the lighter side, pours a light blond color with a thin wispy head that is gone fast and leaves no trace.Aromas of corn husk and a light grassiness but not much there at all, taste like aroma to me was dominated by corn with a light herbal not.Decent when cold and goes down real easy but this could pass as something from the big 3 for sure.

Appearance – Delicate light yellow in color and not much of a head.

Smell – There’s a faint scent of grain, but otherwise this thing smells like one of those clear-colored Gummi Bears.

Taste – Ugh! There’s not even any grain in here, just that sickly sweet flavor of rock candy stuck on the underside of a high school bleacher seat.

Mouthfeel – Ultra-light with little carbonation and very disappointing.

Sinkability – This Blonde gave me a black eye.

Looks like a macro in the glass.

This has more of an adjunct smell than the other light beers I've had from Shiner. Light, not much going on at all. But hey, it doesn't smell like rice, right?

Taste is malty and grainy with a hint of grassy hops, i'm assuming. The finish is short, almost absent.

This one isn't going to be for the craft lover. But at least it doesn't taste like an aluminum can, I guess.

Shiner Blonde American Pale Lager 4.4% alcohol poured into a Plisner glass from 12oz. blue labeled bottle.

A- Appearance is extra pale yellow with one inch loose bubbled head that falls to a light froth with mild lacing.

S- Not bad with hints of lemon zest hops and grassy notes as well. Lightly sweetened malts are present in the back of the nose.

T-M- Upfront the flavors are a grainy mixture of slightly metallic notes with and slick bites of faint citrus hops. Not much on taste but doable for a lawnmower. Mouthfeel is slick and watery with mild carbonation.

All and all a drinkable beer for a hot day.

Pours light yellow with no head. Aroma of pilsner malt, clove and a little fruity. Light bodied and crisp with pale flavors and light hops. Thinking that this was the same as Spoetzl's first brew from 1919 makes it a bit more interesting, but it's not much different from a macro lager. A good alternative to BMC.

Looks the way its supposed to - golden. No real head retention. Doesnt smell so great. Kinda like wet cardboard, or a wet dog or something. Flavor is a quick burst upon your tongue, and then dissapates. I prefer Shiner Kolsch over this. Not the worst Shiner there is (Bock gets that honor) but I prefer most of the other Shiners over this one. That all being said, I think this beer will go well with the dinner I'm about to eat (lasagna).

A - Pours very pale with a fizzy white head that quickly dissipates.

S - All yeast with a bit of malt, no appreciable hop bouquet.

T - A bit of sweet malt with a hint of banana that quickly gives way to . . . water; no hop flavor but a bit of bitterness pops up in the finish.

M - Very thin body with a finish so clean you could convince yourself you haven't tasted it yet!

D - This beer is drinkable in the way water is drinkable. To some people that is a good thing but I am not one of them.

Overall, like an American light beer in the worst way possible. No thanks.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a shaker pint glass. The label has a brief description of the beer but no ABV or freshness date.

Appearance: It has a straw yellow/gold color body with very good clarity. There is some visible carbonation and a tall bright white head on top. The head fades to a wispy thin layer white make some slick lacing. A quick swirl is needed to keep some head on top.

Smell: The aroma has a light clean character with hints pale biscuity malt and some grassy hops.

Taste/Palate: Following up on the aroma the flavor gives a light bodied offering with a pale biscuity base and light grassy hops. The carbonation is borderline fizzy but average for the style.

Notes: This seems to be a very average beer all-around. It is clean and simple.

Presentation: 12 oz brown long neck twist, red white and blue colours for the label. No freshness date.

Appearance: Yellowish straw colour, decent head that looks like frothed milk which leaves some stickiness behind.

Smell: Mostly clean aroma with hints of cooked corn, faint hop twang within the fermented vagueness.

Taste: Crispness and smoothness go hand and hand to make for a real nice flowing mouth feel, carbonation is at a perfect and balanced medium level to hold the light body together. Almost immaculate palate with faint at best for malt character, lots of cracker like grain on the tongue that seems to head more towards a fresh cut hay flavour (DMS). Hops are scarce though are at the appropriate level they should be at with a beer this light. Obviously on the dry side. Bitterness brings a sharp twang to the mouth and nearly cleans house to leave not much at all in the after taste. The finish is just the after shock of the hop twang and some powdery grain.

Notes: On par with the big three (Bud, Miller, Coors) if not a tad better, that is a hard thing to do being that beers this small have to be flawless regardless if they have little flavour or not. On a hot sweaty day this would be a perfect ice cold beer to grab.

12 ounce bottle, no freshness info offered. Pours lightest of golden amber, clear, almost white head, leaving a thick ring of foam, just a slight wiff of a stale nose. This is a thin and fairly tasteless ofering. Lawn mower beer...stay away if you like flavor and have any interest in quality/tasteful beer

Poured into a Sam Adams perfect pint glass

Appearance: high carbonation, 1/4 inch head that fades quickly, straw yellow in color, clear

Smell: toasted malt and grass

Taste: caramel, toasted malt, and grass

Mouthfeel: sweet with a light bitter undertone, high carbonation, light body

Overall: For the style, I actually enjoyed this one. It tastes more like a pilsner than an adjunct beer. I could have several on a hot day. It has a very clean taste to it. If I were not grading to style though, I suspect this would be about a 3.25

The beer pours a light yellow color with a white head. The aroma is very subtle. I may get a little grain, but the beer hardly has any aroma at all. The flavor is grain, wheat, grass and corn. Nothing too special and really not too appetizing. Medium carbonation and a light mouthfeel. Not one of the better beers from Shiner.
