Want to try a beer that makes Budweiser taste like a craft beer? Look no further. Shiner Bock, despite it's loyal fanbase, has to be one of the blandest and most watered down beers I've ever tried.
A- Nothing too wrong with the look of the beer. The bottle is appealing and the brew pours a golden straw with a fluffy white head.
S- Not much to be said for this category... Malt, cereal grains and straw. No hops whatsoever
T- This beer tastes like Pabst Blue Ribbon mixed with sparkling water and just a hint of rust. Not altogether awful, but not what I'd classify as good beer in any way shape or form.
O- No hate to the brewers or to the fans, but I advise fans of quality brews to stay far away from this... beer?

Brand new beer tonight. Picked up from Wally World. $7.28/6-pack. Lets see if this Bock rocks.
Appearance - in 12 oz glass bottle.
Smell - caramel rolls, a juicy bloody steak (yep?), buttered vegetables. It could be a full course meal plus dessert. Oh and the usual light floral hoppiness. Oh! And its got that Rolling Rock thing going on... the sour ale smell. There's a lot to talk about here.
Taste - refreshing with character and the right balance of hops and bitters. Tasty. Metallic finish. Tastes almost nothing like it smells though.
Mouthfeel - crisp and refreshing. Flows like a river. Reminds me of Coors' mouthfeel, just a little more full-bodied. I could go without the metallic aftertaste though. Does melt pleasantly syrupy after the wash is gone.
Overall - it's got a good thing going. I don't know if I would pay the $7.28 for a sixer again unless I really got a craving for it. This beer is pleasant to drink however and is definitely worth a try.
