A - Dark amber pour with a clear look. No lacing of note, and foam rises high but really doesn't retain.

S - sweet malt smell with some scents of caramel and mahoganey.

T - Flavor is certianly sweet with some syrupy sugar taste. Malt flavor is nice at first but not something that impresses you thw longer you drink this beer. Its a standard domestic bock, and is not going to stand well against its German counterparts.

M - Light feel though oddly it does have a thickness to it. This is a decent beer to have with some smoky BBQ, which I've done in Dallas a couple of times.

O - Not a standout bock though also not deserving of the brutal reviews it here. Take it for what it is, a step up from the macors and something other than a pale ale.

Not sure I've seen a bock so clear. It's kind of a medium brown, but it's so clear it looks more like very watered down cola. The head is ok. Slight offwhite bubbles, maybe a finger thick, with little retention.

There is a caramelly malt scent that isn't awful. Much improved over the look, but still nothing much to write home about. Has kind of a crackery smell to it as well.

Tastes like cola that's been sitting out all day and the ice has melted to give it a completely watered down taste. The caramel from the smell carries over and there's a slight savory hop flavor in the finish, but I mostly taste water.

Sweetness and water. That's it until the soury bitter finish.

Overall, this may be the most overrated beer ever. Everyone in beer circles has heard of Shiner Bock and I guess if you've only had Bud Light your whole life, this would be a welcome change, but it's not a very good beer. I needed Doritos to finish the bottle because I couldn't drink it straight.

Appearance:
Amber-brown color, clear. Good amount of carbonation rising up. Thin head.

Aroma:
Sweet malts, a little toasted.

Taste:
Sweet malt up front, bready, a little toasted and caramel notes. Hop bitterness is minimal. Crisp and clean finish. Body is light, clean, crisp, refreshing, semi dry, sharp carbonation.

A: A dark amber pour, with a solid two-finger head.

S: Traditional bock profile of sweet grainy malts.

T: Comparable to many mass-produced bocks. Not bad. Heavy malt, minimal hop bitterness, with an astringent finish. Certainly not up to German standards.

M: Good carbonation and medium-thin mouthfeel.

O: A better than average session beer, especially for picnics and backyard BBQs, but nothing special.
