Pours a dark copper, amber color with a nice 2 inch head that dissipates very quickly leaving a puddle of fizz on top and no lacing on the 16oz pub glass.

There is a decent amount of smell to it with sweet malts making up the majority with some lager yeast smell to it.

Taste is of sweet malts up front with the crisp lager taste in the middle leaving a lingering sweetness in the mouth after its gone.

Mouthfeel is pretty effervescent with lively bubbles and a light feel to it.

Overall, a good beer for the price. I paid $8 for the six pack and I have enjoyed it thoroughly. I will not hesitate to pick this up again.

I got this on tap at a local place that advertised it as a happy hour special. Served in a standard pint glass:

Appearance: A dark crimson with no head to speak of and absolutely no lacing. Minimal carbonation on the surface. It doesn't look particularly like anything special.

Aroma: Very, very faint grains. Not much else.

Taste: Bitter on the roof of the mouth, and not much more to speak of. The taste is of stale grains and that's pretty much it.

Mouthfeel: As I said before, the bitterness hits you right away. Medium body. Very "flat." This is on tap, and I'm just not feeling it. Oh, well.

Overall: Well, it's a very tepid bock, with very little to make it shine, no pun intended. I was underwhelmed. I won't be getting it again. Sorry, Texas. This one just doesn't cut it.
