If you are hating on this beer, let me say you are a jive ass mother fucker who doesn't know the first thing about ethanol. I am a scotch connoisseur. The only wine I can stand is Chianti. I may be a bit close minded about alcoholic beverages, but let me say Shiner is one of the finest beers in America.

Shiner has a caramel malted and nutty flavor. Very light barley and hop flavor, it reminds me of a Bavarian beer with a lesser prominent hop flavor.

It is like a German lager had a baby with a Scottish ale.

Not much to the smell, just sweet and corny.

The finish is the best part. It is incredible, one of the best finishes of any beer I have tried. It compares to Glenfiddich in terms of feel. I have always heard the brewery used to sell this beer for less, so possibly it could be more competitively priced.

It is good, and the best buy at a gas station. The only two beers I enjoy better are Belhaven and Yeungling(which it's strangely similar too).

A-Pours an odd amber-ish color. Sandy head dies off very quickly. Light, light lacing.

S-Very bland and one sided. Light grains and sweet caramel. Corny and brown sugar. No hop presence.

T-Nothing offensive…oh wait, here comes a wave of tinny metallic sadness. Aside from the coppery taste, the beer really is boring. Sweet and Bock-like but with no power or complexity. Bleh.

M-Very light and once you get acclimated to the metal, it does go down very quickly. Peppy carbonation.

O/D-Oh so boring.

Coastal Crossing Grill in Alvin, Texas on tap.

When there is only Bud and Miller around, this is a much better option. Smooth and easy to drink. Doesn't sit to heavy. No bitterness to be found. Just a good beer. Not great and certainly doesn't carry the cool factor now that there are so many Craft breweries out there, but I'm always satisfied after drinking it.

A - Ruby brown hued beer with small fizzy white head that quickly vanishes. Leaves little tracing.

S - Corn husk, some toasted malts.

T - Follows the noes; Corn husk, some toasted caramel malts, and light hops. Nothing special at all. Seems like an adjunct mixed with a bock.

M - Thin, with good carbonation.

O - Not that good for a bock. It's rather weak and suspiciously adjunct like. As a dark lager this would fare well. I wouldn't seek this out at the price it goes for.
