Poured from a 12 oz brown bottle. Freshness date of 11-15-08 06:58
Pours a nice cloudy orange color. Has a 2 finger head with bad retention. Good bit of yeast sediment swirled into glass. Not much lacing.
Aroma is a bit unusual for what most would consider a hefeweizen. Smells quite floral at first. There are also a lot of citrus aromas as well. A slightly hidden wheat and yeast aroma comes through, but becomes more pronounced as it warms.
Taste is also interesting. A clear citrus taste is there, like oranges. A nice crisp wheat flavor comes through with some yeast as well. Slight hop bitterness and bit of maltiness comes out too. Very slight bitterness on the finish. Good crisp mouthfeel. Carbonation is just right. Good drinkability too.
This one would be great for the summer.
