Good, simple presentation from our Texan friends; I enjoyed watching their two-faced character crack a smile when I turned the last thick froth of the head into my tall hefeweissen glass.
Beer poured a thin, somewhat cloudy straw with a head that started out looking good but didn't do so well in the long run.
Taste is quite good and doesn't dissappoint any part of the palate, but lacks the qualities that I think make a good hefeweissen - the fruity, bouncy taste of bananas and marshmallows. Shiner's go at a hefe is really quite good, it's very drinkable and flavorful, but I think it would fare better in the wheat beer category. The Germans really have the category locked down.
Mouthfeel is the most dissappointing part of this beer; It's far too watery. Carbonation is fine and the alcohol never kicks, but there's really not much going on in the feel.
All in all, a decent choice for an American wheatbeer.
