This beer pours a clear brown with gold and ruby tones under the light. It's aroma begins with molasses followed by hints of fruit and roast. The flavor is complex and well balanced with molasses, nut, fruit, and toast notes with maple in the finish. It has a medium mouthfeel and is quite drinkable. Spoetzl Shiner Holiday Cheer is a very good beer, complex and balanced and is a great match for hard sourdough pretzels. Highly recommended! (441 characters)

appearance- dark caramel color, clear. light head with tight bubbles that didn't last to the end.

smell- peaches and hops right at the beginning. not so much on the pecan but still detectable later.

taste- nice warm balance between the peaches and the hops. I thought with the upfront aroma of fruit, it would be too overpowering, but it's perfect.

mouthfeel- light and crisp, not too bubbly.

drinkability- this is a great beer for any season and a nice session. (467 characters)

(11/11/2011) Poured into a Sam Adam's Perfect Pint Glass. Thin white head fading quickly from the glass.

A: Beautiful aroma of peach, pecan, and caramel

C: Light brown color, very wintery looking

Sip: Peachy combined with pecan initially, light wheat flavor comes through in the end for a clean and refreshing finish

OV: Great winter warmer with a very fun profile. Full bodied and very warm. (397 characters)

Color: pours golden brown and sits a clear, deep amber with a thick head and good lacing

Smell: fresh peaches dominate with sweet strawberry shortcake and pecans in tow

Taste: aroma translates well onto palate with the addition of a slight bitterness and bready malt. finish is balanced, somewhat dry and lightly bitter

Mouthfeel: medium body with medium carbonation

Notes: love this one-of-a-kind ideal holiday brew (420 characters)

A- Pours up a dark brown with amber highlights, with a thin tan head

S - Aroma is all peach, with a bit of nuttiness in the background

T - Slightly nutty at the start. Finishes with peach flavor. But all flavors are subtle.

M - Feels a bit thin, but highly carbonated.

D - This is a great beer. Yeah, I'll be drinking this all season long. (344 characters)

Bought Beer from Stadium Liquor.

Appearance: Cloudy, Orange

Smell: Cheddar Cheese, Peach, and Nut were all evident

Taste: Strong peach flavor, also could taste the pecan/walnut

Mouthfeel: After sitting on my pallet for a while, hit many different taste buds I didn't think possible. Awesome

Drinkability: Great beer to show your woman or friends who need something different. Definitely a great beer from Shiner, TX! (422 characters)

A odd beer that I spotted at publix after work, after noticing that their where a few other holiday beers already on the shelves.

Ive never really had anything that good from shiner, but the use of peaches and pecans really seems pretty crazy, so I had to try it.

Oddly enough it works. The mix of dunklewisen, peaches, and pecans give this beer a excellent buttery/toffee smell that is very festive.

The beer itself is very rich, buttery, and nutty all at the same time. A great purchase.

I might even pick up another 6 pack..........Hell it was on sale.

It might even be the best holiday beer I try this season (it was better than a pumpkin stout I picked already)
Give it a shot! (688 characters)

The color is a nice deep amber with great initial effervescence and three fingers worth of foamy tan head. It's surprisingly clear for the style, but has some ok lacing.

Smells like fresh peaches with hints of bubblegum and vanilla.

Medium mouthfeel and smooth with a malty sweetness in the front and some balancing hop bitterness in the back. There is some bite from the carbonation and a little punch from the alcohol. I can't really decide if the flavor is to style or not, but it is pleasing. (499 characters)

Poured into a Sam Adams "bubble' glass.

Dark Hefe-copper with a foamy one inch head thats sustains with a nice lace.

Smells of ripe peaches, spicey saaz and roasted nuts.

Taste is a smooth fruity peach and roasted almond blended with a noble saaz and flowery lemon grass.

Smooth and satisfying medium bodied offering. Excellent holiday brew!

Holiday cheer indeed... (371 characters)

Pours a 1/2 inch off white head.Beer is dark brown with minimal lacing through out.

Very nice smell of sweet peaches and some malts afterwards. Wish I could get this beer as an air freshener.

Tastes of roasted malts, peach and some hops at finish.A bit of metallic taste towards end. Not your typical dunkelweizen.

Mouth feel is light with a smooth finish. Mid to high carbonation and a slight bitter after taste.

Drink ability is great. Overall good seasonal beer, another solid product from shiner, one of my favorite winter seasonal beers even though its not your typical winter beer. (592 characters)

Nice color of ruby hued golden ale
I really enjoy the nose on this one, peaches dominate with some trace roasty malt & pecan.
Nice peachy ale flavors with the maltiness in the background & a lingering roasty pecan finish. Not at all overbearing on any of the flavors & I love the peach flavors!
Nice light mouth feel here, nothing over the top or under done. Very approuchable beer on this account.
One of, no deffinitley my favorite of the holiday ales & very good price point to boot.
Drink up for it will be gone soon! (520 characters)

Bought this in a carnivores in Oakmont for 2.50. I didn't expect them to get it in since it's January and I figured holiday beer seasons over but I found this on the shelf!

A - Ruby red orange with decent head.
S - soft Peachy smell with nut backbone. Also some spices to the nose.
T - mmm great peach taste with little hop bite. Very interesting for a holiday beer.
M - Light bodied and delicious
D - I would love to drink a sixer of this and could easily drink a few in one sitting.

Overall I am glad to get my hands on this beer for the ABV it's both smooth and delicious. (577 characters)

Pours a dark reddish amber with a thin finger head that fades quickly with a decent amount of lacing. Gives off the aroma of beets or grapes. It's very sweet to the tongue. The taste is very similar to the smell, grapy with a hint of beets and citrus. The flavor doesn't last long however and you're not left with much of an aftertaste. But it's worth a try. I would certainly recommend it to a friend. (402 characters)

This poured out as a clear reddish brown color with an off white head on top. The retention is thin and there isn't any lacing. The smell of the beer to me was really impressive. I poured out and was overwhelmed by the peach in it. The smell is sweet like candy and won't appeal to most beer lovers out there. The taste is also sweet, again with peaches I wish the nuts came out a little more. The mouthfeel is very drinkable and easy going. Not bitter at all or cloying. Overall despite it's "artificial" aromas and flavors that it more than likely has... it's still a really good tasting beer in my opinion. I would prefer it if it wasn't artificial at all and all natural but either way I enjoy this beer. I feel it's a bit too clear to be a traditional Dunkelweizen as well. All in all I would drink this beer again though. (827 characters)

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass
Appearance: pours a 2"+ sudsy head that falls slowly with some mild lacing. Color is a mostly clear reddish-brown. Some mild carbonation streams are visible.
Aroma: peaches are dominate, but also a bit of wheat grass, caramel and lightly toasted bread. Mouthfeel: light bodied, fairly crisp with a dry finish.
Flavor: interesting combination of wheat, caramel, sweet barley, peaches and roasted pecans. There is a mild hop bite in the finish.
Overall: extremely good as far as flavored/fruit beers go. The first pecan beer I can recall having where I can actually taste the pecan flavor. Well done Shiner! (650 characters)

Appearance-opaque brown with a red tint
Smells like peaches and cream
Taste- peaches and cream and caramel with medium bitterness from hops.
Mouthfeel- medium/high water content
Drinkablility- easy to drink but could probably only drink 2 or 3 in a night because of the peach.

This beer is not sweet like I thought it was going to be, which was a pleasant surprise. I would probably spend 6 bucks on a 22oz rogue style bottle, but luckily it is that price for a 6 pack. Very good deal and very good beer. The flavor is very complex and the peach/cream/caramel comes first with the hop bitterness next. Both flavors then lighten up. Also, the beer is very carbonated. Best beer that I have had from Shiner. They did a great job brewing this beer. (746 characters)

Transparent amber, short lived head, the lacing is..so...so. Interesting smell, a little vanilla, a little molases, and something I can't quite put a finger on...maybe it is peaches, yeah peaches...well,..imagine that. The flavour of this little brew caught me off guard, expecting peaches, I was not disappointed but where are the pecans?...oh well. The peach is very nice against a nice malty, slightly bitter backdrop.... it pushes my button. Mouthfeel is decent and drinkability very good.

I found this to be a balanced and interesting brew. Tweak it a little, lighten it little and bingo!.. you could have a delightful summer refresher. (642 characters)

A: poured an amber color into my pint glass. Not much head with poor retention and no visible lacing.

S: tons of peaches! Hints of pecan nuttiness too.

T: both ingredients from the nose are quite apparent, but the nuttiness really takes over here. The malty pecan heaviness gives this brew an interesting and unique flavor that I found enjoyable. And not overly sweet by any stretch.

M: medium-bodied and creamy with average carbonation. Exceptional!

D: others may disagree, but I found this beer very drinkable. It certainly isn't a light beer, but throwing back 2-3 of these wouldn't be a problem for me.

If you like peaches and pecans, I can't imagine you not enjoying this beer. And here's the kicker: I don't even like peaches! (737 characters)

Sampling right now on 2/13/14 but had this one once before in 2012. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured into a brandy snifter glass.

Pours a dark reddish-amber in color with a 1+-finger off-white foamy head that settles down quickly. Some spotty lacing is seen. This is 'brewed with peaches and pecans and with natural flavor and caramel color'. Love the aroma when first opened and poured as the peaches and caramel hits the nose. Nice taste of peaches with wheat flavor with spices that goes down easy. Slight sweet aftertaste that isn't bitter. One of the better Shiner's in my opinion. (619 characters)

This is the latest edition in my kegerator & have been enjoying this one throughout the holidays.
A: An amber color with a snow capped head. It is lighter than a Shiner Bock, almost a bourbon like appearance.
S: Texas peaches and a smooth malt aroma. Not alot hops but is a nice change to all those Big winter warmers around. The pecans do come out when the beer warms. A southern treat .
T: You get the peach and german malt in the taste for sure. Holiday Cheer is sweet, warm and easy to drink. Could be a hit for just the average beer drinkers.
M: Easy to drink, has a medium mouthfeel, good carbonation and a medium finish. The more you drink the more peaches and pecans come out.
D: Definitely a session beer. With food , with friends , with a bowl game or just enjoying the holidat season . The girls will love this one.
O: Thanks Shiner for spreading Holiday Cheer & a Happy New to all . Its not complexed but fun to drink. Thank you too for Mike Brawley for getting this one for me. (996 characters)

Appearance: I found this to be a good looking beer with a lot of tan head and lace. There was just the right amount of carbonation to the body. The body was brown with a reddish hue.

Smell: It has a different type of smell. It is very roasty and the only other way to describe it is meaty.

Taste: It has a spicy but not hot. There are a good amount of fruit esters especially in the aftertaste. The peach is dominant but the aftertaste is melon like.

Mouthfeel: Medium and slick with some bite.

Overall: I thought this was great holiday beer. (547 characters)

Hi, y'all!
I just tried this new Shiner beer last night before the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio .. definately has a holiday taste to it. I normally don't like "fruity" beers but this one has a lot of flavour! I don't find it nearly as good as Sierra Nevada's Celebration Ale, a bit sweeter, but still, you ought to try it. I'd just had about 4 plates of Tex-Mex food (mostly marinated chicken to make some fajitas with) and this ended the meal on a positive note. (460 characters)

From a 12 ounce bottle with a twist-off cap.

Appearance: Thin tan head and a clear dark reddish brown body.

Smell: Dominated by ripe peach. Can't detect the pecan.

Taste: Peach and nuttiness. Finishes dry. Not nearly as much peach in the taste as there is in the smell.

Drinkability: Most drinkable beer I've had in a long time. I think the dry finish and fruity taste help a lot with the drinkability. (407 characters)

12 oz bottle poured into a Perfect Pint glass.

Amber red and clear body with a medium sized cream head of great retention and lacing. A really nice looking brew.

Aroma is of sweet peaches and a strong malty backbone. Not getting much pecan in the aroma though.

Taste is heavy on the peach with a more substantial wheat backbone, a hint of pecan but minimal. No bitterness to balance out the sweetness.

Mouthfeel is light, crisp, a little stickiness, smooth.

Overall a nice light peach dunkel that might be better during the warmer months, but surely enjoyed more than expected. Would have been nice to get more pecans though. (630 characters)
