12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 1/25/2014. Pours almost crystal clear deep ruby brown color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Slight spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big peach, caramel, toffee, brown bread, wheat, floral, light banana, and herbal earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with big peach presence and moderate malt balance; with good strength. Taste of big peach, banana, caramel, toffee, brown bread, wheat, clove, pepper, floral, light nuttiness, and herbal earthiness. No bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of peach, banana, caramel, toffee, brown bread, wheat, clove, and herbal earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of peach, yeast, and malt flavors; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy, smooth, and slightly syrupy mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice fruited dunkelweizen. Good balance and robustness of fruit, malt, and yeast flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Poured into pint glass. Pours ½ finger of beige head. Head fades fast. Color is am amber copper.

Aroma: I can't believe how much the peaches stick out. The pecans show as well. Some caramel and roasted malts. A touch of cocoa.

Taste: Peaches and strawberry fruitiness. Pecans and roasted malts. Chocolate syrup with earthy hops. Interesting.

Mouthfeel: Sweet, fizzy, and roasted. Medium bodied with a high amount of carbonation. Ends a bit dry with fruits.

Overall, a very interesting. Somewhat drinkable. Very fruity. At first, I thought I would be able to drink multiples, but quickly found out that one would be enough.

Clear red colored beer with a small light brown colored head.

Smells of candied ginger and malt. Smell some brown sugar and spruce tree. Lesser scent of blackberry and some eucalyptus tree.

Starts out malty and a little sweet with a taste of dried fruit. Weird flavor I can only describe as licorice.

Mouthfeel is good.

Overall a weird beer that I wouldn't want a six pack of.

Shiner Holiday Cheer
*brewery established 1909

LOOK: Pours a light brown color. Good clarity, with a soapy white head providing some lace.

SMELL: Peach and wheat, caramel and brown sugar.

TASTE: Opens up malty and full of peach, giving way to a nutty flavor from the pecans endorsed on the label. Bright peach flavor tempered by ample hops and dry wheat. Juicy fruit and even citrus notes. Toasted malt but falls a bit short, would love it to be more robust. More pecan would help as well. As is, it's still tasty.

FEEL: Medium bodied, well carbonated, fruity aftertaste.

OVERALL: A decent holiday beer, with a major peach influence. The flavor is genuine and everything more or less works. A bit light and confused, but still quite drinkable.

Thanks goes out to armock for this brew.

Pours a nice dark brown color, nice carbonation, nice one-finger creamy off-white head, with some sticky lacing left behind. The nose is malty, with some peach, toffee. The taste is malty, with a very nice peachy note, with some toffee thrown in. Medium body. Drinkable, this is a tasty brew, quite different.

On tap at World of Beer North Hills on 12/29/11.

Pours a dark amber with a thin lacing of loose head. The nose predominantly peaches. The taste is heavy peaches up front with some caramel malt and a slight bitter finish. This is a light to medium bodied beer with good carbonation.

This is a nice twist on a the winter beer. Rather than some heavy, rich, spiced beer, Shiner made a delicious, sweet, almost dessert-like beer. This is a welcomed change of pace.

On draft at The Lark, East Northport, NY.

Poured a dark ruby hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured seriously fruity esters and a soft sweetness.

The taste was likewise fruity with a grainy caramel and grassy hop.

The mouthfeel was toward the thinner side of the style.

Overall a tasty and very quaffable beer.

A: A coppery pour shows up a weathered garnet red in the vessel. A whispy peanut shell head holds only slightly before dissipating to a polished surface. Lacing is minimal, a few speckles while the visible effervesce is fair with only a moderate paced rise.

S: Dry caramel on the nose, apple malt, dry cherry skin with a very low awareness level. Not very cheerful thus far.

T: Flavor is cherry malt fruitiness, sweet vienna grains, toasty apple and honey malt. A touch of christmas pine and spruce hops mix with a specialty grain dry sweetness on the close.

M: Fair amount of carbonation and maltiness on the tongue, some syrupy content feel with a slight holiday spiciness off the tongue.

O: Malt forward xmas beer, fruity and somewhat respectable without being overbearing spice wise.

Pours a clear, dark amber color. 3/4 inch head of a pale tan color. Great retention and good lacing. Smells of fruit (peaches), tart malt, some caramel, a hint of all spice, and slight alcohol. Fits the style of a Dunkelweizen. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp with a high carbonation level. Tastes of peaches and earthy malt up front. A strong dryness is present after the initial sip. A slight hop background is barely noticeable and a strong peach/biscuit flavor dominates the finish. Overall, not a very good Dunkelweizen. I would not recommend this brew unless you're trying to find a decent peach flavored beer.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: rich amber-brown hue with a clear body and two fingers of pillowy tan foam. Retention is OK and lace is present but minimal.

Smell: very sweet aroma of brown sugar, peach and nuts. Very wintry. The smell is enticing, like a holiday candle of some sort, but it's not my favorite combination of aromas for a beer.

Taste: sweet but mild flavor, not as cloying as the aroma. Malty nuttiness starts off with the peach growing toward the finish, and finishing off quite bright. Not bad.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a healthy dose of creamy carbonation. It works well for me.

Overall: this is a decent winter beer, if one you've got to be in the mood for. I wouldn't want to drink too many of these, but having one amid some winter warmers would not be amiss.

Bottle enjoyed at the Old Chicago yesterday.

It poured a clear deep amber with about an inch of foam. Some lacing.

The smell was very sweet and fruity with a butt load of peaches shining through.(pun intended)

The taste brought the peaches to my tastebuds along with a light taste of the pecans. It tasted very grainy as well...wheat, me thinks. Decent taste but perhaps a bit too sweet.

Light bodied with medium carbonation. It does finish on the watery side.

Drinkability? Interesting stuff going on but 1 bottle was all that I could handle. Worth a shot but nothing really sessionable about this brew and really, not much of a dunkelweizen.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a dark brown color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is sweet and full of peaches. Taste is peaches, sweet, a bit of grains, not what I expected from this style, but not bad. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

A: Red-amber color. Poured a 1 finger tan head that dissipated to a broken skim. Lacing washed down the glass.

S: Pecans and sweet caramel. Peaches in the background with some muted spices.

T: Sweet light fruit; primarily peaches. Sweet malt comes through a little in the middle; did not detect a wheeat character I expected.Mild bitter finish.

M: Light-to-medium body. Ample carbonation. Crips and clean.

D: Flavorful and drinkable. The dominant light fruit sweetness hinder sessionablity.

Bought this in a carnivores in Oakmont for 2.50. I didn't expect them to get it in since it's January and I figured holiday beer seasons over but I found this on the shelf!

A - Ruby red orange with decent head.
S - soft Peachy smell with nut backbone. Also some spices to the nose.
T - mmm great peach taste with little hop bite. Very interesting for a holiday beer.
M - Light bodied and delicious
D - I would love to drink a sixer of this and could easily drink a few in one sitting.

Overall I am glad to get my hands on this beer for the ABV it's both smooth and delicious.
