Smokehaus pours out really appealing, lovely golden yellow, with a refreshing clarity and carbonation.
The smell is crisp and malty. A hint of mesquite smoke, with a sugary coating.
Taste is awesome, and incredibly refreshing. A solid dose of delicious semi-sweet biscuty pale malts, along with a meaty smokey attribute that blends the whole beer together wonderfully. There is also a bit of grain, along with some floral/herbacous fresh almost citrusy hops. It's not the most complex beer in the world, but it is ultra drinkable - and the flavors meld really well together. The balance really is phenomenal - the sweetness of the malts, and the smoke blend perfectly.
This may be the ultimate Texas summer beer. This one ranks up there with Shiner Black, and competes for that crown. I know exactly what I'll be drinking this summer. This is one hell of a tasty beer to drink by the pool. Shiner nailed this one, it's uber tasty. Get a hold of this one guys.
