A - Pours up a crystal clear gold, with a white head that forms a little cap on the top.

S - Malt aroma with a slight hop accent

T - Grainy malt flavor, with hops in the finish. Both very subtle and balanced.

M - Slightly thin with a lot of carbonation.

D - Smooth and easy drinking.

Shiner Fröst!!! Shiner's fall/winter seasonal sequel to the 2008 Shiner Holiday Cheer. Another great German/Czech masterpiece from the little town in Texas. As they say, "Where beer is made, life is good."

Fröst is a easy drink. Pour it into your favorite glass and notice the gold amber tone. The taste is sharp, bold and crisp with a neutral hoppy finish. The sweet malt flavor carries out until you sip again. And you know what? ...the sipping process can feel like an infinite loop. Yah, it's that good!!!

Allow me to suggest a little munchiness to compliment said brew....a tortilla toasted on a gas stove, with a comal, smother with a healthy(or unhealthy) pat of butter and a dash of salt. Sounds good doesn't it?

Enjoy this Dortmunder while it lasts!!! Shiner has CLEARLY out done themselves again.

P.S. Package design is the SHhhheeeeiii***!!!!

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into tulip pint glass.

A: Bright gold colored beer with surprisingly fluffy head that faded away and left nice lacing down the glass.

S: Biscuit, sweet and the typical Shiner metallic/grain smell. (Not a bad thing)

T: Crisp, clean. Not unlike Shiner Blonde but with a more pronounced sweetness and the aforementioned head.

M: Lots of carbonation fizz with dry finish.

D: Supremely drinkable. Very nice.

It's not going to give Great Lakes' Dortmunder a run for its money, but its a good beer ... and it's not like we can get Great Lakes in San Antonio anyway.

A: Pours a clear golden/orange color. A two finger white head forms, but recedes in a second. Light lace is left behind.
S: Up front is a spicy and peppery aroma. Some yeast as well. Floral and herbal hoppy aromas. Citrus and grassy hops. Lots of bread and biscuit malt for balance. Very nice.
T: Follows the nose. Plenty of spicy character from the yeast, I assume. Phenolic, herbal, and, flowery. Fruit citrus hops with a nice bitterness. Some fruity esters of banana and pears as well. Lots of biscuit malt. Again, very nice.
M/D: A light to medium body. Though perfectly crisp, dry, and refreshing. Very easy to drink. I can drink this all day.

An excellent example of Dortmunder. There are a lot of subtle flavors that are excellent. After trying most of Shiner's new beers and being very disappointed ( Smokehaus, 99, 100, 101) I am very surprised that this is a well made beer. Put Live Oak or Great Lakes in front, and this is considered a great lager. Something I highly recommend.
