S crisp some hops.
T crisp pilsnery goodness, some subtle hops.
M crisp refreshing well carbonated mf, and minor hop at.
O pretty enjoyable shiner brew fitting for the summer heat. Had in Alaskan Shaker pint at Metzlers in Denton paired with german potatoe salad.

I think Spoetzl makes some decent lager beers,a bit modest but still pretty good.Poured into a Czech lager glass a lighter golden shade with a nice fluffy white head atop.Aromas were mainly mineral-like with a bit of toasty grain, flavors are light and crisp with some of that iron/mineral,a bit of sweetness, and a decent shot of spicy saaz in the finish. Its a good drinker and better than basic, great to drink while grillin out on a hot North Carolia day like today.

I had a few of these the day after drinking some Shiner Oktoberfest. While not a great beer, this one was light years ahead of the Ofest.
Nice clear gold color with a medium-sized white head.
Grassy, hay-like aroma. Some sweet malt.
Big malt presence in the taste. Little bit of hops.
A passable Czech pilsener. Pretty nice.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a Pilsener glass. The label has a brief description of the beer but no ABV or freshness date.

Appearance: The body has a bright yellow color which has good clarity and some visible carbonation. A tall bright white head sits on top and hangs on well. On the glass the head leaves decent lace patterns.

Smell: It's clean and light with pale biscuity malt and spicy floral hop notes.

Taste/Palate: A clean and pale bready/biscuity malt lays down a good base for a tasty and delicate spicy/floral come through. The finish is clean and the palate is snappy and refreshing.

Notes: This is straight up one of the cleanest Czech Pilsners that I have tried. I like to see delicate Pilsners in dark brown bottles!!!

12 ounce bottle from the Shiner mixed box, that just started being distributed in my neck of the woods.

Pours clear medium almond. Minor of white head, film, thin colar and moderate low bits of lace.

Just a hint of malt on the nose.

Malty and quite dry pils. Dark malts, some light smoke and rye notes. Dry through the finish. Decent.

Pours golden yellow with a white head. The beer is very clear. The aroma is wheat, malt and some grassy hops. I also get a slight butteryness. The flavor is similar with a nice touch of bitterness from the grassy hops. The butter is there as well, taking away from the overall flavor. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation. An unremarkable beer, but one of the better ones from Shiner.

A: This beer poured a nice clear golden color with a decent white head, that lasted for all but 30 seconds, however, the lacing is proving to be promising for the entire drink.

S: Smelled like a generic Czech pilsner.

T: Surprisingly this beer was bright and balanced, unlike the smell led me to believe. Where it did lead me to believe that it was a generic Czech pilsner, that would be a half hearted attempt, it didn't have the tin (or metallic) flavoring that goes with the majority of Czech style pilsner I've tasted.

M: Overall it left my mouth dry, which I like, and my tongue tingling for more.

D: I'd rate this higher if it wouldn't have just been a seasonal beer.

Overall, interesting try, would have been better if it wasn't just one run. Good luck in your findings.

Cheers.

A-Clear golden color, transparent thin white head.

S-Asiago cheese smells at first. This quickly fades. Then I have to go searching for any smells. Definetly pick up those wet river rock smells as described in the other reviews. There is also a slight scotch tape smell.

T&M.F.-A narrow malt presence. Overtaken by bitter hops upfront. Hops lack flavor. Tastes like extract. Maybe a bit of rice too. M.f. is smooth, uneventful.

D-This tastes like a Miller Lite. Which they may have been going for. I thought I was going to get an American presentation of a Czech Pilsner as described on the label! But this is just American Macro knockoff. Back to the drawing boards with this one.

Pours an effervescent honey color with one finger of ivory head. Average head retention & lacing

S: Grassyness & cooked veggies & a touch of honey once warm, plus some floral hops

T: Lemony hops, a touch of grassyness with light breadyness up front. Honey malt & lemony hops as this warms. Finishes crisp, with mineral dryess & a nice bready sweetness

MF: Light bodied, crisp, carbonation is nicely done on this one, great balance too

Not the best Pils out there, but engaging enough to drink 3 or 4 watching the game or hanging out at the lake. Not a huge Shiner fan, but they did a pretty good job on this one

Pours a crystal clear toasted straw color. A few shades darker than your traditional pils. The white head is fluffy and slowly dissipates leaving some lacing on the glass.

The aroma is quite light. Slightly bready malt provides a sweet aroma and there is a touch of grassy hops. Overall, a bit weak for the style.

The flavor is light and dry. A cracker flavor from the pils malt but there is some depth from a breadier malt. The hops are light but grassy. A sweeter breadier pils basically.

The feel is light and crisp, very easy to drink. Good balance, good summer time brew.

Not the most flavorful pils but no off flavors. Again, easy drinking brew.
