Poured from a bottle into schooner. No obvious best before date (though it is fall, so it's TIME).
A - clear copper with lots of carbonation. Initial one finger head disappears quickly leaving very little lacing behind.
S - moderate amount of caramel malt and a hint of sour mash
T - very slight hint of initial hops resolving to dilute caramel malt. Not a whole lot of character with this one. Lacks the malty sweetness expected in this style; there's a little, but not quite enough.
M - light and sharply carbonated. The malt sits on the tongue but doesn't take over.
D - certainly drinkable, but lacks a bit of character.
This is a decent, but not outstanding Oktoberfest. Its a bit dilute relative to the standard and lacks much trailing sweetness. Worth a try, but not a "go to" Oktoberfest unfortunately.
