Shiner Marzen-Style Oktoberfest pours a very clear amber with tons of carbonation. the head lingers for a few seconds, then disappears.
smell is grainy with a hint of caramel and earthy hops.
slightly grainy, slightly buttery and dominated by caramel malt. bitterness low, but hops are present. the flavor is weak, with a few distinct characteristics like caramel, toast, buttery, earthy hops, but nothing really pulls it all together for a cohesive flavor.
mouthfeel thin, watery, with a lingering grainy aftertaste.
what is it with Shiner's grainy profile? nearly every one of their beers has it to one degree or another. it's not a good kind of grainy, it's like an abrasive, sour grain water taste. i swear i only keep trying Shiner because i want to support Tejas breweries.
it's easy to drink, especially for Shiner loyals. if you love Shiner's other beers, you'll probably love this.
